| This is the first time that I've been angry towards Smith, but we could just be looking for an excuse, which in my opinion under values the confident and disciplined play from Salford and kinda lets our players off the hook. The players were shocking tonight.

Tony Smith willl and deservedly so take a big chunk of the blame for today, how many games have we just scraped through this season and we've gone home thinking we've got away with that, get the best team out week in week out and get some form going again. Its becoming ridiculous as a fan that pays to go to every game when you get there and so many players have been rested, i understand resting maybe 1 of waterhouse/westwood/carvell every now and then.. but resting basically all our playmaking leaders? pffft. And to make all those changes aswell as bringing in Evans Myler and Solomona from long lay offs was frankly a very amateur decision.'"
spot on , arrogance of the highest order from tony smith , surely he as done enough rotation now gotta build some momentum end of the day there are just 8 league games left

| I think it's important that we have players good to go for the Semi Final then we can concentrate on putting a run together in the Leauge.
Keep the faith, people might want to remember how far we have come under Smith. "Come back Jimmy all is not right" MY

| Tony Smith cocked up last night and pretty much admitted it. We'll move on.
I don't think people are giving Salford enough praise though. They were absolutely electric. Speaking to a Salford fan on the walk back to the car, he said that they have been playing a lot of good stuff like that but for only 60 minutes (With a few exceptions) and then theyve been losing late on. Why then don't the Salford fans turn out to watch them? The home support last night was embarrassing and the excuse of a crappy stadium can't be used. Very strange.

| Can I just say that if we put all the players back in for one off games we will get a disjointed, scratchy performance.
Particularly obvious last night in defence, nobody could trust their inside defender and the separation of the players in the line was down to not being used to playing together; no more so than the edge defence with Riley, Blythe and Myler.

| Tony thought the team he put out were good enough to win. We had a lot of good players on that pitch, a lot didn't show up or were absolutely dreadful. A lot of blame lies with them lads on the pitch because every one of them could have done so much more than they did (understatement!).
But then with Michael and Joel, Briers, Westwood, Atkins, Hodgeson, Carvell, Grix all out; and Morley, Myler, Solomona, Evans all playing without having recent SL game time... we're on to a loser straight away.
But let's not take anything away from Salford. We could have had all twelve of those players above bang in form but last night's Salford could have just been unbeatable. Sometimes a team is just so in form and everything clicks that it doesn't matter what is in front of them, they'll still win. It's like that the Challenge Cup final of 2010, I don't think Queensland would have beaten us that day, we were just unstoppable! Sometimes that happens.
We need to dust ourselves down and move on now. Our two most important games of the season are coming up. Catalan have two games in hand and a game against us. If things go their way they could be 3 points ahead of us in a few weeks time. We cannot allow that to happen. We must finish in the top two. Then we have the CC semi-final against Huddersfield.
The season starts now. Things need to start clicking I to place. Set plays need to start coming off, timing of runs and passes need to start to be spot on, defensive sets need to be smoother, players need to start playing every week and gaining form. It's July tomorrow, the season starts now.

| People who moan about rotation saying things like "play your best team week in week out" wouldn't be happy if we did just that, were cruising at the top of the league in June, then had a squad full of exhausted players who lost the semi to Huddersfield, scraped over the line in third or fourth after losing a couple of games in August then got knocked out in the play offs.
Rotation is crucial and in a sport where finishing first isn't the be all and end all it is even more important. If we get passed Huddersfield we will have league games against Wigan and Saints, Wembley, and the play offs to look forward to from August onwards.
THAT'S when we need momentum.
I do think we rested too many players last night though, and I'm unhappy that I wasted £20 plus travel costs to watch it, and it will make finishing top two that little bit less certain - I think beating both Catalans and Saints when we play them will be crucial to that aim, but I still believe Smith is learning from last year and getting it right overall. Beating teams by 60 points routinely, finishing top, then ending up the way we did was heartbreaking but we can't have it all and our approach this season has been much more geared towards the end of the year rather than the middle of it.
I still believe finishing top two is a big advantage - SL history proves that regardless of last year's one off - but I honestly don't care if we finish first or second. I did last year because I had never seen us finish top but I have now and that's that. Winning at Old Trafford is the be all and end all and losing to Salford last night doesn't destroy that dream.

26672.jpg "The Warrington people hadn't had success for a few years, but there's no speccy in the world as good. They are very knowledgeable and appreciative of hard work. What they like is honesty. They want the team to try; if they fail they fail, but they expect honesty. They know when players don't put it in."

| Last night was shocking from Warrington.
The team were good enough to give Salford a more than decent game (on paper!) but they lacked cohesion, leadership, discipline, enthusiasm and they did not respect the ball or their opponents.
Salford played some great rugby, BUT a team aiming for Wembley and the Grand Final should never get 48 points put past them, ever.
We will never get our stadium filled to capacity if the attitude of the playing and coaching staff doesn't change and quickly. Who wants to go and watch seemingly meaningless games of RL where your team does just about enough to get into the top 4 places?
Not good enough Warrington, a complete change of attitude required........ if we don't see our best team on the park from now until the end of the season then they could be missing out on at least 1 season ticket sale next year and I'll pick & choose my matches.
Again, well played Salford!

| didnt matter before wigan lost and now doesnt mean an absolute thing. for salford they see it as a derby so they went out all guns blazing and basicualy out-played us. solomona produced a good offload but looks to have ut a few pounds on.
have myler and o'brien ever been in the halves together before? all this talk that we need to get chase is ric=dicoulous thin he is overrated and not fit to lace lees boots never mind take over him need a smarter experienced half back to carry on the developement of obrien and put myler on the bench as hooker?

| Not good enough getting 48 put on us by Salford but nothing to worry about just one of those days. Salford are good in attack and we barely had any field position for 60minutes i think Myler's try was the first time we got near the try line second half. Rested a few to many players I think was a very young back line but the forwards didn't give them a chance anyway. What did people think of the stadium? Think i prefer the Willows the new stadium has a nice big main stand then 3sheds.

| Last night was a wake up call, or should be. That performance has been coming all season, bar 3/4 games. We rely too much on 3 players, Briers, Monaghan and Westwood, especially Briers. Can't blame squad rotation, as last night's team, bar Dwyer, are proven at SL level for Warrington. The main problem is we are an aging team, that is nowhere near last season's team and is in decline- formwise.
2 big games coming up, Catalans and Huddersfield, and don't be surprised if we lose both games, because the way we are playing, it is highly likely that we will.

| Glad to see Solomona back, but judging by his physique he's in the wrong rugby code. He should lay off the KFC..

Rotating is all well and good but not resting the whole nucleus of the team. All i can think is Tony Smith is putting himself under a lot of pressure with this system, if we bomb out of the play offs again after the poor season and constant squad changing then what will happen?

Why is our defence so poor.
