No everyone's weeks are the same, they go from Monday to Sunday.
Only Ethiopia runs on a different calendar, which is why its only 2001 there.

| Quote ="Mark"is it just me or does anybody else not really see it in Sam Tomkins? I know the Wigan fans think he's better than Myler, but I just don't see it.'"
Up until a late kick into touch to give us great field position and then his try Sam Tomkins had his worst game for us imo.
It's tought to judge Myler as i don't see him every week but i'm more then happy with Sam. I get the feeling he's being asked to play a little within himslef at the minute as he's not taking the line on as much as i'd like him to but he isn't half a threat when he does. He's so strong for his size and elusive which along with his superb pace from the mark makes hima real handful(when he does take the line on).
I know alot of our fans(and other teams fans with thier young players) can go overboard about young players but this lad has got talent in spades. I think most people see him as a running halfback but watching him i feel he's got the full package. The major responsibilities like kicking are being kept away from him at the minute but he has that ability in his locker.
12 games into his Wigan career i'm more then happy tbh.

I don't think any coach would want a young half back running straifht a t seasoned players, they would invariably get mullered. I think you are right, he is probably being told to play a conservative game plan.

Which is what i said earlier in this thread, i said the same when the subject was first debated on a different thread. Sam Tomkins is starting out his career, their is no need ton rush him whilst they have Thomas Leuluai around.
Quote ="Rob Wire"Sam Tomkins looks like he is playing under instructions where he has been told to let the senior players like Thomas Leuluai and Tim Smith take the lead whilst he learns his trade.'"

| The only thing interesting about Sam 'I'm so ****** hard' Tomkins so far is the way he seems to be a bit niggly, particularly when he's been tackled. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it'll be interesting to see what happens if anyone takes real offence and hits him - I've got Peacock down for the first dig.
Did anyone see John Kear's interview on the BBC's RL Forum after the normal coverage had ended? The reporter asked him about their 3 game losing streak and dip in form - he strongly disagreed with her, said there hadn't been a dip in form and that he was 'ticked off' - with the question (although he didn't confirm it).

| Warrington were trying to sign Tomkins for a few years and one time after a curtain raiser, they even got Andrew Johns to have a a word with him.

I said at the game on Saturday when he kicked out at Sculthorpe that somebody needs to have a word with him. I like the fact that he won't stand for being bullied about however big the guy may be but that was plain silly and it's something he's done in a couple of games now.
I doubt him going down the line of getting lumped though especially from a guy like Peacock. He unlike somebody like Sculthorpe or Latu isn't a coward and would probably feel embarrassed to start a fight with a stick insect like Tomkins.

Peacock wouldn't strike him, that's not his style. But he would certainly make sure he felt the force of his tackle next time round, Peacock is from the hard but fair mould.

He plays the game exactly how it should be played.
I just wish we had a bloke like that alongside the likes of the Tomkins brothers, McIlorum, Prescott etc.
They'd benefit so much from a leader like that.
