The selling of Central Park indirectly led to Wigan's loss against Hull KR in this years cc. It was to be expected that bricked and burnt out Wire coaches would be the aftermath of frustration passed on by Wigan fans to KR fans to us as a result of the Central Park/tesco conversion.' Every little helps' as we own our own ground and Wigan are tenants. By the way, I wonder if Whelan as the landlord has to gain permission from Wigan RL, the tenants, to enter the property?

They might have done if they would have been able to find the coaches

Huddersfield have the advantage of a large coach park at the stadium. Headingley could easily have sorted the coach issue by using that spare bit of grass in the "ground" next door.

I think we all need to remember that the Coaches were hugely discounted by the club at the price of £2.50 each way for S/T holders

You having a laugh? In all the times I've been to the different incarnations of their stadium, I've never had any issues getting to and from the ground. Different story at Headingley though.

But I'm not about to get involved in the dick measuring contests going on between the Wigan and Leeds fans on here. If they want to do that, take it to the effin' VT.

I certainly didn't bring this up as a pop at the coaches, drivers, coach companies or the club. It was a great and very much appreciated gesture by the club to offer discounted travel and I'm sure it resulted in far more fans being at the game than would otherwise of been the case.

Did the RFL take the fact that there's a test match taking place at Headingley into consideration when organising fixtures?? I was going to go on Friday but, I don't think I'll bother now

The sky/RFL axis are not really bothered who & how many turn up to games ,they are quite happy with sky revenue & as such are not really bothered how many fans they inconvenience & annoy with there strange scheduling.

I think Headingly looks like a tired old ground now rather than a nice traditional one. But it wouldn't take much to change that. Look at the Carnegie Stand.

Some new safety regs, get rid of the posts that block views and upgrade/modernise the other three stands/roofs and it'll be a cracking stadium.

...for Leeds home games that is. It'll be great for Leeds fans and 2000 travelling away fans. But with the infrastructure around the ground it isn't a place for 13000 travelling fans from other towns on a large number of coaches and cars for semifinals.

On the train to Leeds 'ere. Looking forward to the match tonight with no travel issues experienced so far or expected...
