| Adds to the experience. Some people want to sit and watch in silence, clapping when we score with a nice boveril and a prawn sandwich. (Imagine that?)
And there are those who want to get behind the team, showing support to them, drink, blow away all the e from work you've had all week, Yanno... Have fun

Surely the most important thing is the rugby match itself?

weird isnt it..... some people want to shout, swear and act in an aggressive way.
apparently, if you cant do these things... there's no fun to be had... INFACT by trying to stamp these things out, the club are 'killing the fun'.
you couldn't make it up.

| Exactly that's what some want to do at the match. We think you're killing the fun by just sitting there. there is no right and wrong really.

I think this thread has really missed the point on what’s happening in the new corner. If we can take our minds off the drum for a second, I have reposted what we're trying to do and what’s happening. I hope this will shed some light on the situation and will help you understand what is going on.
I have got together with a few other people who were fed up with the flat match day experience, at the Halliwell Jones. We created a Facebook page got about 60 people to join and started throwing around ideas of what we can do to improve the experience at home games. So we decided to move to the corner where people can see us all around the stadium.
We don't want to be referred as a group or gang. We would prefer to have the fans unified as one. We didn't want to become some eastern European ultras group, which people would cringe at. We want to create something, which the fans and the club would be proud of. Now we have moved, we need more people to join us and help us improve. We're not expecting this to happen over night, nor are we expecting it to be an instant hit with every single fan, but the only way this will work is if more people get behind us. At the Bradford game we had about 30 people move to the corner but it’s not enough. We need people to come over to the corner and get behind the team and get behind us. Anybody is welcome, just watch the game and enjoy yourself. We're not a bunch of childish chavs, which some of you on here seem to think we are. We're just loyal Wire fans with a passion for rugby league.
For more information about what’s happening with the 'Reclaim the Zoo movement' (as some people are calling it) then ask to join this Facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/117198151807628/ you will be able to see what’s happening and give us suggestions on what you think will help us.

If you really think that, then the Club will certainly steer clear of you, in fact they will actively discourage you. Using foul and abusive language is a criminal offence. Do you really think that the Club is going to encourage that?

I used to stand in the middle of the Fletcher End when I was still at school and thoroughly enjoyed the noise and atmosphere. Probably joined in as much as the next person. Mind you, drums hadn't been invented back then.
Perhaps I used to think the pensioners in their sky blue, three-wheeled, Reliant Robins parked up at the side of the pitch underneath Legends were spoiling my afternoon by not joining in the singing. But I don't remember. Maybe that's another sign of growing older.
Nowadays though, I enjoy the rugby much, much more from the relative comfort and civility of a seat and my wife and daughter simply wouldn't attend after their one and only experience of the South Stand.
I hope you remember this thread as you grow older/mature as it seems you're suggesting you'll be effing and jeffing, jostling for a position close to a drum and perhaps standing on a yellow step whilst having a crafty fag for the duration of your support for the club.
Enjoy your rugby. I do.

Isn't that the point, you, I and many others enjoyed their time on the Fletcher End and if some want to recreate that match day experience then that's upto them surely?
There's far too much negativity as far as I can make out. 'They' don't seem to be saying join in with the band, or get a drumstick around the back of your earhole, rather we want to make some noise we are in the corner if you're like minded then it's open house join in....hardly a crime?
You have taken a strategic decision and excercised your right to move to a more comfortable spectating vantage point more suited to your current needs, or perhaps you feel that this move has been forced on you?
There is choice and whilst I might take the decision not to join the people in the corner, neither would I deny them the right to give it a go, within the bounds of reason.
I'll stick on the 40 and enjoy my rugby happy in the knowledge that as "I hear the sound of distant drums" others are enjoying their rugby too.

I think we're in agreement!
Not got a problem with the younger and more vociferous element of the fan-base wanting to have a good sing-song. Just wanted to point out to him that he too should understand why not everybody will be joining in.

| personally think its a great idea! remember before the corners were filled in and everyone said that the atmosphere wasn't there because it was 'leaking out'. and 'when the corners are filled the atmosphere will be better.' I think it has got quieter.
i like the idea of having a section of people that want to sing and create the atmosphere (it isn't going to create itself.) I for one will be joining them and lets hope that this gets going as an atmosphere is part of the experience aswell.
I don't like the harking back to wilderspool but the one thing i remember was walking over bridgefoot and it getting louder and louder you could hear the stadium from town centre. you cant hear the HJ from sat outside!
