That maybe a little harsh. Luke Thompson appears on that list and I'd have him at Wire in a heartbeat.

Yeah id be staying clear, he's having a fantastic season but i think we should work with what we have in the club and maybe look over here and English backs if necessary. I presume lack of funds are why we have missed out on so many forwards recently, id think this makes us more competitive in the transfer market going forward but if we splurge it all into him we are back to square one... most likely what we will do then

| I read something last night that said we may be considering a swap deal with the Dolphins for their no. 6 Kodi Nicorima, who is 31?
And another piece that said if Williams goes at the end of this season we would expect £200k??
Where's Abe?

| Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf is insisting that 'Kodi Nikorima is not up for sale or going to be swapped. That’s not going to happen'.

| I’d put good money on us ending up with Dodd (who is not even trusted to put the cones out at Souths)

That would be just like us, wouldn't it. He's a scrum half and we apparently already have the next best thing in Hayes. We also have Ewan Irwin who looks a real prospect. Sneyd will be fine for the next season and a half at least so if Williams does go we need an exciting and running 6 not a fairly limited 7.

| Another alternative to the Dufty, Taylor -Wray connundrum, is to try CTW at 6, in a running stand off role in the future.
Bevan French made the transition and he is the best in that position in Super League now, although Mikey Lewis is running him close.
CTW has a great passing game and is young enough to acquire a kicking game too, with some coaching.

Fair, I had it the other way round Dufty to half CTW to FB but I clearly don’t know as much about him as you do. Either way my point stands let’s not go chucking money at this we need forwards and a quality attacking centre in the mould of Wardle, still hurts we never got him.

The player currently keeping Charnley out of the Leigh 1st team is Keanan Brand.
A young player that we recruited from Widnes, but was released to Leigh on a freebie by Wire, without being given a proper chance.
Leigh are off loading Charnley now and if we sign him, it illustrates the incompetence of the Wire succession plan for our team.
And he has scored hat trick tonight

And he has scored hat trick tonight We need Mystic Meg on the staff. Just at looking back at who we had around at the time ... you just can't keep 'em all. Lineham, Charnley, Ashton, Wrench & the excitable Mamo. Then they get lent out and rarely come back. Took his tries well though v Leeds.

I dont think Williams has ever given us value for money.
I'm not even slightly bothered by him leaving. He goes down as just another bad decision in the failed 'galactico' recruitment strategy of our club.
Hopefully we will start to move away from that desperate model now.
That's an interesting observation. Hopefully our galactico strategy is over now and we will stick with the model of signing hungry 'project' players who won't break the bank like Roderick Tai, Dan Russell and Oli Leyland. That's an approach that gets a far warmer reception among Wire fans.
