| Out of interest, how would we feel if an NRL club came in and offered to buy a share of the Wire? Not sure I would be comfortable with a full takeover, I'd still like Moran to be a majority owner as he'll always have our best interests at heart.
Maybe a 25% stake to someone like Souths / Penrith whom we already have loose ties with may improve the running of the club overall and free up funds for some capital investment in to the stadium / training facilities?

I’d buy it just to get rid of Fitzpatrick.

| Now, there are a number of different thoughts across clubs, with some wanting the rules to be relaxed even further while others believe that would be a bad idea. Now, a proposal and decision is expected to be made at some point next month.
That paragraph is the one that bothers me, the clubs that want it can afford it, and the clubs that can’t don’t. And it’s why the sport in this country is a mess and will never improve if clubs keep on vetoing what does not suit them.

| Is there a danger with relaxing quota rules that SL will eventually finish up as an NRL old timers league to the detriment of bringing our youth through to play in our superleague. Where will the encouragement be for rugby playing kids of the future when Stanley Gene's name could be above their's on the team sheet ?
For another thing, it is about time our game was rebranded ,every sport has hi-jacked "super league" . Get a new came & copyright it.

You could be a bit sneaky and say that clubs have to have 'x' % of players in the first team squad that have come through their Academy which will naturally limit but not remove the amount of overseas players. I would argue each SL club should have, for example, 50% of the first team squad as Academy products and 25% UK trained and developed. That still allows 25% for overseas players, lets say 7 in a squad of 28. Clubs that haven't invested properly in their Academy will either have to do so as a priority, will have to incur transfer fees buying in UK trained players or will have to run with a smaller squad. It rewards those clubs that have invested in the Academy system. I think we have 14 or 15 Academy developed players in our first team squad. I've no time for penny pinching clubs who always think short term and hold the game back.

Yes, quite surprising really as the Australians are renown for their diplomacy.

| I don’t believe that at all, how do 35% not want the NRL involved. Was this vote led by Wood and Beaumont. The sport in this country will die if we do nothing, we have been doing nothing for what feels like forever.

| The results from the readers of League Express have been voting for what role they would like to see the NRL have in British rugby league.
The NRL to have no role whatsoever in British rugby league – 35.67% The NRL to take total ownership and control of British rugby league – 25.80% The NRL to replace IMG as a consultant to the British game – 15.30% The NRL to invest money into British rugby league but not to exclusively manage it – 13.28% The NRL to manage the British game but not own it – 0.94%
The NRL involvement may be our last chance saloon to maintain a fully professional league. I suspect the vote was hammered by Cas, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Salford fans.
