| Quote ="JWP"Sorry, just seen this. Is he the guy who took his leg off on Mock The Week, the 'velcro' leg. If it's him, he's extremely funny.'"
Quite possibly, I've never watched Mock the Week.
I saw him in 2002 (I think, it might have been 2003) at the opening night of my university's comedy club. Obviously he was just starting out then playing gigs like that but he was absolutely hilarious.

| Been to see Peter Kay a couple of times, along with the rest of the country. Saw Vic and Bob many moons ago in Manchester but the most recent was Steve Coogan. A somewhat shaky start as Pauline Calf, a mostly forgettable Duncan Thickett, an on-form Paul Calf and a godlike genius entire second half of Alan Partridge!! A wonderful evening, marred only by a dodgy seat and being sat next to a crack whore. And seeing Sean Long there.
TANCW - good call on Jackie Mason!

My little brother is on Paddy McGuiness's live DVD in Blackpool. He made the mistake of getting up to go to the bog halfway through his routine.
Although its not traditional stand up, Julian Barratt & Noel Fielding are very good in the Mighty Boosh Live show. Before the show starts they do about 30 mins of stand up.

| I'm seeing Rob Brydon in April, not sure what to expect but he makes me laugh, so we will see
Also off to the Comedy Store at the Pyramid in a few weeks, Justin Moorhouse is playing
Rhod Gilbert's damaged suitcase rant is stunningly funny (you tube it)
Lee Mack - very funny stand up, lose the sitcom though !
Steve Wright - US stand up, very funny
Jackie Mason is a comedy genius, you younger folk should seek out his work

| I recall someone mentioning Jason Manford earlier on in the thread (think it was JWP), very funny guy. Seen him at the Unity in Liverpool whilst watching Lucy Porter. Wasn't really expecting much but he surprised me.
At the moment, Michael McIntyre is up there with the best. The guy is hilarious! Also one name that's not mentioned but who I think is particularly good is Karl Spain, especially his stories about his mate, aka "The Eedjit".
One guy who I've seen on TV but not live who was very very funny was Rodney Dangerfield.

Bill Hicks and Eric Morecambe are different types of comedian but both cracked me up!
