I'm grateful for all that Mickey has done for us but getting £50,000 for a player who wanted to leave, and will be 35 in September is a great deal.

Higham was sold for £70,000 10 years ago in that Saints -> Bradford -> Wigan deal. And we bought him on a free.

Just think we bought Westwood for £60,000, Briers for £65,000, Nathan Wood £30,000

this whole debacle is no slur on wire. I imagine being a leigh lad, he wanted to finish his career at the club. WHY it had to be now (from our point of view), was probably down to sean penkywicz being out injured for 2/3 months.

We've had to go back and get one of our kids..... and pay for him as well.

WE may have copped stick in the past for waving the cheque book and taking Ratchford Myler and Clarke but we never unsettled them. Christ we paid for Clarke and then sat back and watched him play out a man of Steel season for Castleford.!!!

The truth in all this will come out over time but Micky's gone, we have got vey good money for him and we move on. Warrington are a better side than Leigh and will be for a long time so let's not worry about the Lobby Gobblers and concentrate on making this season better than it has been so far.

Friday is a must win for us and I expect TS (annoyed with this saga or not) to have the lads fired up as Salford are there for the taking!

I'd like to thank Micky for his efforts whilst he played for us even though it has not ended like we would have wanted it to.

As has been said we got good money for him, he's old and we were going to half his salary next year, to me that says we didn't think he was worth his current salary. I can understand that getting Higham annoyed personally and if he can getter better security elsewhere then so be it. Mid way through the season is a little sly but if he can help Leigh get into SL then he is going to want to do that. I understand us being miffed but we are better off without a player whose mind and heart is now elsewhere.
