Bridge has fantastic footwork, he's powerful and he's pretty quick, he's got a good pass/offload on him and he seems to be pretty good at executing the timing of the pass when at centre. He's had a solid year considering he's been shifting between the halves and centre this year. If he gets to spend the majority of next season at right centre, I'm willing to bet he'll be the more productive out of King, Atkins and himself.'" So do you think he will get in in front of King and Atkins ?

Are either King or Atkins better right centres than Bridge?
Does Bridge deserved to be dropped after playing well this year?
I'm not sure, we have a lot of options that we can switch around depending on the opposition, but Bridge at the moment, is my first choice right centre for next year.

| if he stays in a non-playing capacity could we have him as gameday announcer? I reckon it'd be a riot!

Bridge wouldn't be dropped he would revert back to his position at the start of the season which is a squad player
Bridge maybe your 1st choice all I can say is In Tony Smith I trust ! and he won't leave King or Atkins out if they are both fit which brings us back to Bridge the back up centre, lets face it his defence is poor and he hasn't exactly set the world alight has he ,Gleeson was far superior and he has gone due to his attitude and Bridge's off field problems and he is a moody player will all count against him !

In Smith We All Trust.
That's why Bridge stayed at centre when possible, and King played a large part on the wing. QF at Hull KR, King played outside Bridge.
Grix & Bridge were our first choice centres this year for a large part.
Who knows what next season will bring, Bridge may drop out, god knows. I suspect King will get moved to the wing, to keep Bridge in the side and keep all three happy, with Riley dropping out but all this said, it's rare that you'll have the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from, so it's good to have options.
I think it's been clear though, that Smith rates Bridge as a right centre, as when possible, he's continually selected him there, and re-jigged other areas of the side.

Agree with you there, I think our three quarter line next year will look like this;
King, Atkins, Bridge, Hicks

Not convinced Atkins is a better centre than Bridge - he is a different kind of centre.
The stats show Atkins makes more metres per carry which is fine but he has NO try assists while Bridge has 10. Some of those were at stand off but more were at centre. Not sure I would prefer a centre who can't pass.
In terms of defence they have both missed approximately the same number of tackles so I hope you are ready to slag Atkins' defence off as well. Bridge has made several more marker tackles as well.
Atkins has made far more offloads while Bridge has made slightly more clean breaks.
Bridge has made significantly more errors.
In short they are very different players but I would have Bridge as my first choice right centre - no point having a winger outside Atkins at present. However if Atkins learns to pass I would have him at left centre with King outside him on the wing.
Both have made more clean breaks and marker tackles than Matt King who has made more metres than the pair of them.
