| Quote: DAG "Does Craven Park not hold 13,000 now that they’ve put that new temporary stand in? If so, you’d think we should’ve been given more than the 1,100 tickets we’ve been given, if the apparent ruling is 10% of the stadiums capacity.
It’ll no doubt sell out eventually, but there are still tickets available on their website, some even in the block next to our allocation, which makes it even more bizarre if our allocation is slightly under the alleged required number.
That being said, when a team barely takes a 400 fan following to either Hull ground, even when it’s on a Saturday, there’s something radically wrong when there’s such a clamour for tickets just because it’s a ‘big game’.
Regardless, I firmly believe that if you wanted a ticket badly enough, then you would’ve got one, if you were a Season Ticket holder of course. Perhaps though, the club could’ve added an extra layer of sales criteria first of all, to ensure the most loyal were guaranteed.'"
Currently only handfuls of tickets left in The Well below the West Stand and the temporary 1000 seater South Stand.
Capacity with the temp stand is about 11,250 I think. Has to be segregation in place, hence the 1,100 tickets for away fans = 10%

I’ve no issue with the 1,100 allocation personally, as I think it’s a bit of a farce how we take so little to a Hull away game generally, now there’s a load crept out of the woodwork and there’s a huge demand for tickets all of a sudden.
Was pretty sure the capacity of Craven Park was quite a bit above the 11,000 mark though, as everywhere that I’ve read states in excess of 12,000.

The capacity was 12,250 before the south stand got demolished.
The east stand is having a temporary 1k seated stand put at the end of it for the next 2 seasons before a permanent extension is added as so the east stand spans the length of the pitch.
This is will keep the capacity at around 11,250-11,500 - again, I’m unsure of the exact figure.
But yes, it ashame more don’t travel. The Yorkshire teams aren’t much better (bar FC and Leeds)

| I haven't been to a Friday night game in Hull since we won the LLS at the KC in 2011. I couldn't make it when we did the same in 2016. The simple reason why is that you can't get a train home from there after a Friday night game so need to stay over, which I did in 2011 and was planning to this Friday. I wouldn't do it for a normal game though. When it's an afternoon game I sometime go and sometimes don't. The train fare is double the cost of going to West Yorkshire.
I don't really care if that makes me loyal or coming out of the woodwork in the eyes of people on the internet who don't know me, soz.

| Spot on Barstool Preacher, going to away games for me is an assessment of many things, convenience, other plans, cost, is it a loop fixture, form and feel good factor amongst others.
I've been to KR and FC before but I'm not going on Friday as it doesn't quite work, having decided that I'd like to watch the game with my two grandsons and that's easier at (their) home rather than trying to get tickets in the home allocation (could be fun) driving over straight after school and getting back at daft o'clock.
I don't think this makes me a part timer/poor supporter and conversely IF the 'stars had aligned' and in this case we were the Saturday game at KR, I'd have had no hesitation in trying my utmost to get three tickets and don't hold with this 'coming out of the woodwork' crap.

| No, you are indeed right, peoples circumstances are different and do dictate whether you can or can’t make the trek up to Hull on a Friday night whilst battling the elements on the M62.
Apart from Catalans away we haven’t missed an away game for ten or so years, but we’ve got other commitments this season and haven’t got to as many away from home as previous.
Make of it what you will, but we played Hull FC away on a Saturday afternoon earlier in the season and we must’ve took about 300 to that one. While here we are for a semi final, people are complaining that an allocation of 1,100 isn’t enough for us. So while not pointing the finger at anyone in particular or personally, I do think people have ‘crept out of the woodwork’ for this one.

Spot on last paragraph. I never missed a game for many a year but due to health issues I can no longer attend matches until I get better. Does that make me an armchair fan. Some clown made a comment on Warrington Guardian ripping what he calls part time fans I would suggest people shut up unless you know someone’s personal circumstances but hey ho it is the world we live in and unfortunately we have clowns

Well I hope your situation improves and you have the choice of attending again soon. I certainly wouldn't make a personal judgement call because everyone's circumstances are different and subject to change BUT here's a thought as a town do you think that we have backed this team enough?
I get that play off games are extra and some might be being 'careful' as they hopefully come thick and fast and in threes, but would have expected another 1,500 on Friday's gate v Saints with a hope that we saw 'Sold Out' at the HJ.
Not having a go at anyone, just wondering if we as a club should be concerned? I think we had better turn outs under Smith, although the stats will probably prove me wrong, (I seem to remember a near sell out v Saints when Carvell went the length of the field), where and why have those fans gone?
Is it the game, cost of living, TV which I think was high ratings considering other viewing or something else?
Can it be fixed as I'm sure that Sam and the staff value the support and whilst the atmosphere couldn't be faulted empty seats isn't a good look.

I was one of the people who was missing from the North Stand.
The game wasn't included in the Season Ticket and I opted to go in the South Stand because it was cheaper.
Possibly a lot more North Standers did the same.

| I don't think Warrington as a town has ever supported the team enough. St Helens has a smaller population than Warrington (I think anyway) and average crowds a couple of thousand higher than ours.
Yes, they usually have a better team than us and have won a lot more, but we've been there or thereabouts in the conversation for trophies since winning the Challenge Cup in 2009 and our attendances have only ever risen dramatically once and that was when we moved grounds.

It’s likely it’s a combination of all those points but also following sport is a fickle business. If your team is poor they stop going I saw this for myself when we we going through the I know what team I have Price era. Where I always use to be in the South stand a lot of familiar faces were disappearing and not coming back. This was another reason I was getting so annoyed with the KFP antics you want fans in the stadium you need a winning team or they just won’t turn up, gimmicks may get them in but you need to be winning to keep them coming. Well that’s my belief. And thanks for the comment I hope I can get back to games soon.

Best wishes karetaker. Hoping you’re better soon and able to get back to the matches.
Let’s hope we get the job done on Friday.

Absolutely. If someone wants to go and watch the Wire - whether they haven't been before, have only been infrequently, or have for whatever reason stopped going - then surely that's great? No need to give those folks a negative comment like 'coming out of the woodwork'. This season has been fun and exciting, however it finishes, and I hope it inspires lots more people to start attending.

| I don't really get the coming out of the woodwork jibes anyway. Of course more people want to go to a semi final than a regular season game! If the play offs followed the Challenge Cup format and had the semis at neutral venues, would the thousands going then be accused of coming out of the woodwork because they don't normally go to Hull KR away? Behave!
