A big no from me! It's funny though how we as individuals see players and their strengths and weaknesses. After the Salford debacle last Sunday we were dissecting it in the pub when one of our group stated we need a Jake Connor. I said he was the most overrated player in SL IMO but others though he was just what we need. Go figure!

I’ve not heard anything about Jake Connor coming to Wire other than what I’ve ready in here and FB.
However, he’s got an x-factor, when he plays well, FC win.
I’d have him in a heartbeat, the best backs have a menace.

Sat here on my hols reading 'legacy' the book Powell was banging on about in his first videoed meeting with the team that he wanted them all to read. with the intention that they would adopt the attitude and culture described in the book. Jake Connor to me seems to a total at odds player to that culture. There is even a section called 'no d1ckheads"

With the senior players iirc. The book is about creating a management team with the senior players so that the younger players are less likely to not disapoint their peers but it means that the senior players must be humble and set the example in every area. This sounds like the crux of the problem, senior players wanting to get off early etc..Powell just not accepting it.

Connor needs to move to a professional club where he will be expected to be disciplined and compete every week if he wants to fulfil his potential.

Maybe that's the direction Wire are headed and Powell can get the best out of him. I've always thought that it would be good to see him move somewhere like Wigan/Saints to see what he would be like in that sort of environment.

The ideal IMO would be Hull sign a strong coach and he develops there as it would be great to be ble to add Wire/Leeds/Hull to Saints/Wigan/Catalans and have a genuinely strong top6 which we don't have just now.

The Dolphins are at the head of the queue for Connor now Kalyn Ponga's turned them down. Wayne Bennet's a big fan.
