Please tell me at which point I said everyone needs to get bladdered? Its mearly an observation I have noticed for some time now and you can't tell me that drink doesn't encourage people to get involved more. Because if thats what you honestly think then it is you that is really daft. All I'm saying is that its a factor.

And how is it a stupid comment to say you can try to force an atmosphere? If all you do is come on here to critisize people that are actually trying to make an effort then I feel really sorry for you. Some people don't half moan, If them lads get it going at home games and they pull it off I'd bet now that you'd join in and love to see the whole stand going for it every game.

Idiots like them are more than welcome over there because the last thing they need is people like you moaning. And as for the comment "then everyone can get on with watching the game and supporting the wire" There are many ways of supporting. Firstly we've all supported by paying for a ticket, some people also choose to sing and get behind the team when their heads are down. To me thats the idea of a supporter. singing and lifting them up when they're going through a tough spell, showing them that we arn't discouraged and therefore they shouldn't be. Ask any player they love to hear the songs. At keighley banterous songs were sang to the players that some may find inappropriate. However I've seen Joel and Myler killing themselves laughing at them, they love it.

Too many rules in the ground. No swearing, no gestures, no standing on the yellow lines. It's killed the fun that used to be the game. You're scared to say anything now incase you're reported to a steward. I'm all for it being a family game and protecting children from bad language and aggression but it is a major factor for killing the atmosphere I think. Maybe there should be a section of the south for families? Or make the north east a family section? that way if you do decide to take children into the standing then you know the risk you are taking. Just an Idea.

Exactly the reason there should be a family section, like many grounds in the UK. I don't mean fighting or anything like that but what i mean is you're scared to do anything in fear of the fun police these days

May be they could sing nursery rhymes in the family section .

Did anyone of this thread go to the Swinton match tonight? If you did you might have noticed the Whitehaven fans (a particular group of about 20 lads) showing the way to do it. No drums. No foul language. No abusive chants or threatening behaviour. But boy were they noisy! Didn't stop singing and chanting all through the game and you could see the players appreciated it.

I always find good away support raises any atmosphere as the challenge on the pitch is taken up on the terraces. What's the away support like in SL it's poor in the championship now

No what I'm saying is that if there was a family section then families would not be subjected directly to foul language ect. I'm not saying we should have a firm and go round kicking off and abusing the opposition. all I'm saying that IMO its the little things the club do that go a long way in killing the game atmosphere

Just need as many people in that new corner as possible. The more join in and sing the better the atmosphere will be. I hope word gets around and we do attract some people to the corner. But then on the 20 metre line where we were surrounded by 12 year olds who are on their fones for the whole 80 minutes. And i definately agree that people go there to let off some steam so if they want to shout and scream as long as there are no punches and racism then it should be allowed.

I am sure some of the little treasures that go to the matches will know words that will make most peoples hair curl.

I don't go to a match to sing or bang a drum. I go to watch a rugby match.
