I'd rather have a younger player who is going to try and make a good impression every week and work hard. Grix does none of these things.'"
here here, totally agree, very rare he even passes the ball, cant break the line , his brother is a far better player io, would rather have scott any day.

| Strange then that he was involved in the passing move for three of our tries yesterday.

| don't see where this negativity towards grix is coming from.he was involved in 3 of our tries and was good cover against a castleford side when we wanted to give briers a rest. he did a good job yesterday and again see him as a loose forward and not as stand off.

| Tony Smith seems to like him. Under a salary cap system you have got to have players like him in your squad, every team has them, we are fortunate enough to have a handful of players like him instead of a team full.
I personally think he is solid and has a good balanced game.

That's a bit harsh - why put him in a bin? Or do you mean 'should have been'?

How do you know he can't break the line? just because he didn't yesterday does not mean he can't as according to the super league stats hes made 7 clean breaks but he is not in the team to make line breaks he sets up the line breaks. Plus on passing the ball he does not pass it enough for my liking but he set up 3 tries yesterday so you cannot complain.

Do you rate Myler?
Grix's stat are Offloads, 14[/size
Attacking kicks, 32
Runs from dummy half, 24
Tackle busts, 35
Marker tackles, 66
Clean Breaks, 7
Yea your right he doesn't pass and make any breaks, bet he doesn't make any tackles either?

| Was just going to ask the same thing as the pp. Myler (and I am certainly not bashing him, as I really like the kid) did not 'break the line' all that much, put only a few kicks in, passed the ball 'ok'. Grix tbh looked a bit more energetic in these areas. But Myler's talent lies in his ability to be in the right place at the right time so the above is acceptable.
What I am trying to say is that to expect Grix to excel in all these areas when it isn't even his 'position' is unfair. Why are people so much more forgiving of the 'stars' - after the odd flashy move' but criticise the hard grafters who get through a whole load of work?

Probably because some people only remember the main parts of the game such as who scored the tries were as other people will notice players like grix who helps to create the tries and westwood who gets through loads of work. Thats why alot of people don't like clarke i believe as he doesn't come up with that flashy move that monaghan or higham may come up with.

| Don't get me wrong flashy moves are what we go to see and is what makes RL so exciting. But a whole squad of these types of players just doesn't work. Thank goodness for the grafters like Grix, Harrison, Westwood and co who get us in the position for the flashy guys to do their stuff and keep the opposition at bay.
