21721.jpg 100% commitment to my home town jersey, is all I ask !!!!:21721.jpg |

| Me and my mate were walking down the beach in Malaga a couple of years ago, wearing our wire shirt, when an old bloke, obviously from Cumbria/Yorkshire way was squinting and paying attention to our club badge on the jersey……..to which his wife “said who is it?”… “the wolves??” he said to us…………to which we replied…….”NO – we’re the Wires !!!”
Almost a pointless story – but what made the scene complete was when he did that thing that old fella’s do……..where they tilt there head to one side, towards you – then nod there heads slightly, in recognition…..and then come out with “good lads” !!!!! haha

He will deserve it if he contributes to a winning performance.
Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

| Just got back from Tenerife yesterday. There is a bar (Bull Tavern) in Los Americas with a bloke called Mel who used to live in Longford who owns it.
Has about 6-7 signed shirts around the bar.

| Walking through Boston U.S.A!
I had my Wigan Top on and I hear a voice Shouting from approx 50 yards away!
Oi! What you doing with that on!
Turn Round and there's a lad with a Wire Top on Working on a Baseball Cap Stall !
Got talking, went out that night (With another lad from Oz!) got Ratted, Peed all over the front of the entrance to Harvard shouting "See How many O'Levels it takes to clean that up in the Morning!" and went on to become Great Friends with him.
He was originally from Warrington (Mum & Dad Still live over here) and it turned out he owned the Stall and had lived in Boston for about 6/7 years.
This was 94 and he came over to England for the World Cup in 95 and we went to a few games together.
We last touch around 2000, If anyone knows him his name is Jim Savage and you regularly see letters from him in the League Express etc.
If anyone does know him etc would be nice to get in touch again as I lost his address & Phone Number.

North Wales should be renamed 'Little Warrington', I've always thought.
I've never failed to see someone from Warrington, either in a jersey or that I recognised from the town, on my many, many jaunts there.
I was watching one of those crappy SkyHolidays shows t'other week and they were in Portugal, I think, on a beach and they did that thing where they shove a camera into the faces of the tourists and demand their opinions on the place. One bloke they asked was wearing the '95 centenary shirt.
Scruffy Swear Filter, I thought, as that top must've be 13 years old at the time.

32137_1302980312.jpg Fat blokes in the mud, flat caps, bogs that drain pi55 directly onto your boots - Now it's all 'Big Ask', 'Arm Wrestle', 'Collision' 'Contact' 'Facials' 'Upper Body Strength' 'Big Units' 'Scooting from Dummy Half' 'Energy Levels' 'Laying the Platform' ‘Middles’ and 'T-R-Y'. Let’s not forget resilience.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32137.jpg |
