| Quote BBTB="BBTB"Probably an unpopular view this, and he was rightly criticised when he was here, but I think Steve Price would of done really well with the current squad of players, tighten up the defence and leave the attack to Williams flair and the pace on the wings…'"
If he left them alone to sort the attack sure. I was always vocal about Lee Briers and what he was doing because at times we couldn’t score if the try line was undefended. Then when Briers went to Wigan I started to think did Price just hold him back and focused to much on the defence.

Does anyone read the previous thread on here.
The post started I hope Catalans win it this year and McNamara thinks project completed.
Warrington contact him with same deal offered to Holbrook.
Hopefully then thinks I fancy a new challenge. I’ll take Warrington on next season.
Long shot I know but by far stands out head and shoulders above everyone else mentioned previously apart from possibly Sean Wane.

Exactly. Get a deal agreed for 2024. Don’t think Catalans will ever have a better chance than this year to win it.

From what I hear Catalan are significantly the biggest club in the comp in terms of cash flow, they get significant numbers through their corporate hospitality. The new marquee rules will only help them further coupled with first pick of an improving French academy system.

Do you reckon if French RL continues to thrive, they will be able to play in their own league?

Why would i belive it? Wane won Super League 3 times and won a challenge cup, Powell won the Hubcap in 2017.
So your telling me if Wane was available to us at the same time as Powell, we'd look at what they've done and dismissed a proven winner for someone who isn't? Absolutely no chance that would have happened.

| Quote Lord Tony Smith="Lord Tony Smith"Good post. At least Burgess would command some sort of respect from the players you’d like to think for what he’s achieved in the game - would Rowley?'"
He definitely would .... Round the nightlife with them, getting his round in... literally no meaningful coaching experience on top ..Still not heard one reasonable explanation why not Rowley ... just saying no or because it's Rowley isnt a measured reason... Josh Hannay has been mentioned over the last couple of days....upcoming assistant at cronulla.. building a reputation....he appears a reasonable alternative if he fancys wet England now ... Not sure about people continuing to mention Wane though as he is at interested as Holbrooks family was to coming here in reality

| I think people would see Rowley is too similar to Powell. Able to work within a tight budget, bringing a disparate group of unknowns or journeymen together and able to achieve relative success…
Whether that’s transferable to make him successful at Warrington I’ve no idea?

| Given that the Warrington club can't seem to keep any information quiet inside the club, the Holbrook deal being made so public means that any self respecting agent now knows what Warringtons top line offer is and so this will make negotiations all the more difficult as why would any decent coach settle for less?

Not sure that has much do with Warrington and more to do with Holbrooks management. The press in Aus are all over deals like this.

What’s Rowley ever achieved? He won promotion with a Leigh team who easily had the best team in the Championship. His Salford side have lost their last six games. Leigh have kicked on and improved since he left and since he joined Salford they’ve regressed to below where they were under Watson. He’s Powell mk 2.

It happened believe me. Can you honestly see Wane getting on with Karl? Wane wouldn’t take him at all and would probably want him gone within a week. The board at Warrington are scared of how much Wane would shake things up.
