If you want a straw to cling to, in 2006 we went to Headingley and had 50 put on us by Leeds at the end of the regular season. We went back there a couple of weeks later and knocked them out of the playoffs, with Briers kicking a drop goal in the last minute.

In 2 weeks time we will have Hughes, clark, Brown, Roberts, Sita and hopefully Lineham.

I don't think Sita or Brown will be available unless it's with injections.

Hard what to make of that. We weren't great with Roberts and Brown on the field, but we were in the game. Though we didn't look like scoring. When we eventually did with Brown it was lucky. Brown and Livett didn't know what he was doing and his late run left Brown UNABLE to pass and it was a fluke that it opened up for him. Goodwins was a good try but the other was broken play off a mistake.

When we did make a break it rolled my eyes at the end of it. Atkins not passing, Ratchford taking the wrong options constantly. Using BBM over and over instead of using him as a foil after it was clear he wasn't getting through.

I feel like the sin binning of Lee's was fine despite the commentary protests. We put a big hit in and then Saints afterwards took it personal and starting launching into us with every tackle recklessly and the culmination of that was Lee's flying in and copping Roberts accidentally. Yes he was falling but so was Percival when Roberts copped him. The saints fans in commentary thought that penalty was justified. Duty of care. But then shoes on the other foot and its a poor decision.

All in all, our decision making is terrible. We won't win the semi. Clark will hopefully get us into a better position to but when we get to the 10m line we have such poor execution that Saints will deal with us easily.

It was a very hard day for us yesterday injuries wise. Poor old Bodene Thompson should never have been on the field. Rib injuries bloody hurt. He could hardly lift his left arm (I think) all the way through the game. He stayed on just so that others didn't have to play. Tough.
Anyone who is too critical of us ought to watch the game again. We lost Roberts and Brown, Thompson & BMM looked injured early on.
Not a great time to get so many knocks.

Unfortunately I forsee a very disappointing end to the season. Yes these games don't matter really, but to end the season with poor defeats to Wigan, Saints, Cas etc. Possibly Wakefield in the mindset of they don't matter only is worth something if we beat Saints in two weeks. Lose that game and we've been on a coasting to nothing.

We won the league leaders shield and table topped our way to nothing in 2016. It's all on the day in the playoff games, and it doesn't matter how you get there.

I can see us putting a very weak team out v Waky for fear of more injuries.
Mind you we don't have a reserve team to put out.

I'd guess that what BMM, K Brown & Thompson need is a long rest not just a week off. I'm afraid I'm not optimistic of them getting through one big game never mind a potential two. Thankfully I have been wrong before ... but not looking good.

Apart from Clark and possibly Lineham they are all bang average players who get nowhere the Saints team.

If Saints win when the seasons on the line for both sides, then fair enough.
Yes Saints have won all the games with Wire this season, and yes Saints have been miles clear of Wire in the league, but it'll count for diddly squat if (big if mind) we turn Saints over in the only game that matters between us.

BMM hasn't been fit all season, he's a stone overweight and the injuries and penalties he concedes are a result of his stamina being poor.

As soon as the season is over he should be packaged off to an army camp for a month, and he can take Sita with him - then we might get more than 15 minute cameos out of him.

I’d edge more towards Murdoch Masilla being two stone overweight.

Presumably some of that is down to his knee being knackered and his subsequent inability to do any distance running.
