ive been thinking about this recently and i have come to the conclusion that it is a good thing.

we can see from the under 20's that we have a fair amount of decent young players coming through... this way every one of them has a quality pro to learn their trade off.... these young players aren't having to be rushed into the team when they are not ready... they will come in chomping at the bit and playing the kind of rugby that smith is installing throughout the club.

It is well known that Hodgson is a very good coach of young players as well... which probably played a major role in smith brining him in.. fullback is the only position where we don't have a quality pro for the young candidates to fullback to learn from.

I have no fear for the future of this team in the years to come.

The only concern I have about the whole age thing is that in the next 1-3 years there is going to be a huge exodus of some very good players.

I just hope our youth system is upto coping with this, along with Mr Moran's famous chequebook...

Its probably more to do with the fact that the clubs "legal" department know a damn site better than those that speculate as to who falls into which catagory in the rotas. Maybe NOBODY has to leave to make way for Hodgson.

On the subject of Hicks I think its great clearly still has it by some of the tries he has got this year (bradford in the cup) and 18 tries in 17 Super League games speaks for itself.
