Yes I saw that as well as everybody else for that matter. Barely a murmur from the commentry team either. Coops got 10, just imagine the uproar if that had been Benny ?
And the knock on that won them the game. Geez. i know they say never right off the Saints but at this rate they will have used up all their 9 lives come the business end of the season

| Genuinely lost count of how many times the new main commentator referred to Saints as 'league leaders'. Salford were excellent bar the first 15 minutes and that brain-fart of a short kick-off, just a shame it was all about Saints. Their winning try was 50/50

| The winning try was from a knock on for me. Hard on Salford, but you win some and you lose some with VR decisions.

If our crowd last night was embarrassing then what would you call the attendance against Wigan in the cup which is a much bigger game?. About 2,400 people more at our game last night. Hilarious post.

What a wonderful post. Can taste the bitterness from here.

| Good god I’m so bored by St Helens. Metronomic and monotonous, honestly not that good to watch. Why do teams stand back with them and not rip in? That being said, Cas are bloody awful. What does Powell have to do to be sacked?
Thank god nothing’s won in May, this lot still won’t win the GF.

| Commenting on Stains on this board is a huge mistake as it will attract the like of ARS108 and Judderman as sure as planting hostas in your garden attracts slugs.

If we won't, then congratulations, Wire are champions. The rest of the league is a mess, there's only two teams in the competition this season. Saints aren't boring to watch either. The only monotonous thing at the moment is the outcome of the games. The rugby being played is sublime at times. The attack is fluid and balanced with genuine danger across the field. Our youth players in the pack are genuinely better than any other side in Super League's senior forwards other than Warrington and IMO that is a close thing which is ridiculous given the ages involved. Thompson, Lees, Smith, Ashworth, Knowles all sensational prospects. Thompson, Lees, Ashworth and Knowles should all be in the GB squad if they pick on performances not names. Teams do rip in, if you watch that game back you can see Cas do have a real go, they're just outclassed and physically battered. Saints success this season is nothing to do with Lachlan Coote or Kevin Naiqama or even James Roby who has become some a celestial godlike master (Best hooker in SL by an enormous distance). It's the defense that is winning games. Cas had the ball for the first 4 minutes of that game today and came away with nothing. Denied. Then Saints score off the first spell in the Cas 20 and the game was already over at that point, heads down across the field in Cas shirts.

| I agree Cas we're excellent in that first ten and saints defended superbly and then attacked superbly...reminded me of us 2011. They are streets ahead of everyone else including us. I will take exception with the Roby comment. He is an absolute class act but he is not a country mile ahead of Daryl clark, still better -, maybe but its not by a distance that's for sure.

| Very fluent attacking by Saints. Thought they were a bit lucky in the first 10 minutes but Cas have injuries (apparently). The league position accurately reflects the current difference between us and them, but there is a long way to go.
I do not agree that Roby is significantly better than DC,if at all.

Spot on. Saints are the outstanding team so far this season with us a good second best, but still second best. There is a long way to go but I'd sooner see a Saints side like yesterday's prosper than have the likes of Wigan grind out another championship in their mechanical style.

Same here I would sooner see Wire, Cas or Saints in the Grand Final and I don't want to see Wigan or Leeds having a sniff and sneaking into the top 5. If Wire and Saints can take more points off Wigan and Leeds then the job is done for perhaps a more entertaining final. Catalans need to be carefully watched though.

| It's May, there's still a fair number of teams who can reach the top 5, and it's not a foregone conclusion that we'll get Saints and Warrington in the final. People will always get ahead of themselves.

| Sky have REALLY showed their RL intent tonight. It's enjoyably painfully strange listening to Barrie and Jon struggle to keep talking.
In other news it doesn't look like the fine folks of Hull are embracing QF weekend any more than we are. ....
P.S. see you there Dennis!

| I don't normally watch sky games but i watched the Leeds/London Magic game. The commentary was dire . It might help our game to spread via tv if universally understood commentators are used.

Tonight’s the best lineup post Eddie we’ve heard IMO. That bloke doing some of the games last weekend was awful, sounded like he was eating a hot pie most of the time! No idea who he was but I’m guessing the guy above me is also referring to him. I can’t recall if he called the London game. Tonight’s coverage is at least sensible and they’re actually telling us which player has got the ball and, to their credit, they’re trying to make this rather dull game* interesting without going OTT.
*In my opinion.

| It was a cracker. Both teams gave their all, entertaining right to the last. Could have gone either way. Good win for Grixey as he starts his coaching career although I do fear a blowout for them in the semi against the Saints. Nice to hear both coaches recognising the contribution to the game of the opposing side.
