| Monas leaving is sad, in that it represents another huge part of the successful CC teams dissapearing, but excellent players don't necessarily make excellent coaches and it's now time for him to move on and learn his trade. He, and we, will probably benefit from doing that in a new environment surrounded by different staff.
I assume he'll stay in England short-term, since he's marrying an English girl, but that doesn't mean he's going to smuggle all our inner secrets to Wigan or Saints and bring us down as an act of revenge for not making him chief washer-upper.

Cunningham is to remain assistant according to everyone "in the know" - but we do have an assistant role open, as Lolesi will go with Brown presumably...
That said, I'd be surprised if he came to Saints, we have ex players turned coaches coming out of our ears!

| I wonder if this going to the Dragons business is related to work permits.
If you change jobs in the UK you need to be granted a new work permit and Monaghan would have to satisfy the criteria that showed he was an elite coach, he wouldn't be on a visa as a player any more, as he hasn't got any coaching experience he might not be able to get one.
But if he can get a work permit as a coach in France then he can get some experience there and maybe down the line apply for a work permit to coach in England (or go home to Aus).

| It didn't seem to affect Brett Hodgson going to Widnes or did he already have some coaching qualifications when he came to Britain ?

Also its hard for a player to start a coaching career in the environment where his old mates from the dressing room are there as coaches have to take tough decisions.
Would Michael be happy breaking the news to Joel that we are going in a different direction, we want a winger with pace so sorry mate but the coach is releasing you.
