had tickets for the North and was quite apprehensive about sitting with the posh folk for such a big game.

But I was pleasantly suprised, except for the four people in front of us who didnt get out of their seats, clap, sing or even fart throughout the whole game!! the rest of the surrounding fans were extremely vocal... and no one used the foul language....which was different.....

although it was difficult holding in the Turrettes-ish you cheating B------ Bentham... at times..but calling him "a terrible man" was quite funny

Wigan fans sang for about a 15 minutes spell from 45.18 onwards.

LOVE IT, Been in the same stand myself when I take my dad or the eldest, usually for a Saints Wigan type game.

Not really atmosphere related but there was a lad in front of me with his girlfriend. He was moaning at her all game about the referee, offside, Wigan holding down in the tackle etc.

I thought he was just venting his spleen or trying to explain what was happening to his gf who might have not known much about the game.

Then I noticed right at the end, she had a Wigan top on. She had a face like thunder as well. I reckon they slept back to back with a pillow in between last night.


Atmosphere was the best it's been in a couple of years I think. As someone else pointed out, when the North and East stands are getting excited, something good is happening.

I thought the Wigan fans were quiet compared with their last few visits to our place.

I think you need a new telly. Currently watching the game back and the noise is tremendous, Stevo's voice was struggling from having to shout so much.

Wigan fans numbers were well down on previous years. Plenty space in the west stand especially towards the touchlines.

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere last night. The roar of the crowd when Micky Higham scored was incredible.

Not that it really matters at all in the grand scheme of things, but, from my observation I thought you were well represented in the West.

Prior to the corners being filled, as a 'non season ticket holder/roll up on the day guy' I've previously stood in the West against Wigan, Saints, and Leeds when the South had sold out and Warrington fans generally filled that first section up to the second sest of steps (i've even stood on the yellow lines)
