| Excellent line from mulhern.
We are definitely showing more attacking intent. Reason to be optimistic for this season, loads more to come from us. Cas are killing themselves with poor discipline tonight.

| Mata'utia has deserved that try, carried well all night, tackled well and copped some rough treatment from his former teammates but kept his discipline.

| I’ll take back my thoughts on Charnley. He’s going to thrive under Powell.

| Well despite not being great, it’s a comprehensive victory. Can’t argue with that, and exciting to think we’ve got a lot more improvement in us.

| 74.50 ish on the clock.
Jack Hughes almost, nearly, came agonisingly close to passing the ball.
He's been steady tonight in all fairness.

Called it in the off season.
He will score a lot this season if he can stay injury free.

| That's a great win, cas discipline gave us a massive helping hand but we played well, threatened in attack, defended stubbornly and didn't make many errors.
We are building.
Walker or Mata'utia MOM for me, Jason Clark looks rejuvenated. Credit to the pack missing Cooper they did well I felt.

| Thought the half back partnership looked very promising tonight. Looked a bit lightweight at the start but the pack definitely grew into the game. Interesting season ahead.

| Just sat in the traffic on Scotland rd/Winwick St.
We were ropey up front both in defence and going forward, first 20 minutes or so.
Hughes and bullock appeared to be better for the most part, to philbin and mulhern (Robbie improved 2nd half)
Widdop and Williams probing were Miles better than last year. Williams especially.
I'd be interested to know why currie got subbed, thats probably the first time I can recall since his knee injuries in 2018.
Not a bad performance overall, following on from being dog rough on Saturday.
I'll take that.

| I know it’s early days, but I can’t help but think Alex Walmsley in that pack puts us in contention. I still think a full strength Saints and Cats beat us up too much, but I think we will build as the season progresses and score some points - the wire way!

| Bullock was great tonight I think he will prove to be a good signing, I do think we are short a unit but the pack did pretty well in both games so far. They weren't busting holes in either game really but they aren't being broken either. Matt Davis and Jason Clark so far look quite exciting compared to what we have been used to from them. Hughes played well as a prop tonight.
I agree, saints will probably be too strong for us in a few weeks but if we keep building I think we can close the gap. Probably not enough this season.

A quiet match from Ben.
Think he took a knock earlier on.
A big improvement on last week.
Several very good performances - Clark, Walker, Ashton, Charnley, Widdop, Williams and - as usual - Ratch (not to mention Ma'tautia).
But lets not forget we struggled with go forward until the intercept try.
We'll find out how good we really are after the Cats and Saints matches.
