We've just won our first trophy in over 35 years with him at right centre, with him making big contributions in the QF, SF & Final. That suggests to me that he master of something, namely right centre.
As for this defence thing, who are these centres that have got the better of him this season ? I can't name one, he's always held his own for mine.

Depends really, what do you want him to be a master at?
Bridge has fantastic footwork, he's powerful and he's pretty quick, he's got a good pass/offload on him and he seems to be pretty good at executing the timing of the pass when at centre. He's had a solid year considering he's been shifting between the halves and centre this year. If he gets to spend the majority of next season at right centre, I'm willing to bet he'll be the more productive out of King, Atkins and himself.
