We are not in great form. Certainly not the form when we battered Wigan. But a wins a win.

First time we have beaten Saints 3 times in a season for a long time

Our ball movement is middle of the road.

Our long kicking is poor.

Our tenacity in defence is as good as I've seen in a primrose and blue strip.

The speed and footwork of our wingers and fullbacks can create tries from anywhere, and do so every week.

We were miles better than Saints today.

I don't like our long kicking game and I haven't all season but saints play with a 3 back system which is therefore hard to find space again. We are still pants against 2 though!

Streets ahead of this time last year, so even if, in that second half, we're not scoring against a side that never looked like doing the same, I suppose we can't complain. Teenage me would've snapped your hand off if you'd offered him wire finishing third, plus beating Wigan AND saints in a season and reaching the CCF. And 36 year-old me last year would have too! Guess perspective helps sometimes.

Love the energy and ferocity in defence that Yates has brought to us. Also thought Philbin was exceptional today. Scratchy in attack but I’ll take the win.

Philbin v Saints is a tale as old as time. He is always twice the player against them.

Think we setting ourselves up nicely. Win next two games and hoping for a loss in another we get home advantage.
