| Although effectively based on 1 year I would suggest Jiffy must be close to legend status.

Ah, that magical 1993-94 season, where we ever so nearly won the league, and JD was the Man of Steel.
Then again, Graham Appo was amazing in 2003 for a season, but I doubt many would call for him to be a Wires Legend.

Appo was every other game from about half way through the season.

| Appo shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as Davies unless the sentence was along the lines of “Appo nowhere near as good as Davies”.

Yes, but that's my selective memory skewing the truth and how it affects the judgement of a 'legend'

| people will see Davies as a legend.. mainly because for alot of people, he still remains the best player they have ever seen in a warrington shirt.

Amended to cast doubt on legend eligibility.

He's up there in the top three overseas players I've ever seen at this club. In reality he was more influential than both Boyd and Blake, the two others in my top three. He was just absolute quality.
In my opinion we equaled Boyd when we signed Morley (maybe i'm being kind to Moz) and we surpassed Blake when we signed Davies. I didn't manage to see Derek Whitehead play but saw all full backs after him. and non were better than Hodgson.
I wouldn't be bothered if Johnno was named at full back he was the next best....and quite rightly He's earned his Legend status as both player and coach.

Still the case for me. Even compared to the likes of Langer, Johns, Michael Monaghan and Briers, Davies for his brief spell at the club was the best player I've seen in real life.

Johno in full flight getting the ball on the 25 and sything through the defensive line with his side step was a sight to behold.
Up there with Mark Roberts bursting onto a flat pass through the line. Happy days

| It all comes down to your personal interpretation of the criteria for a 'legend'.
There is no doubt that both Davies and Hodgson were fantastically talented players, and a joy to watch in a Wire shirt, but when we signed them they were already fantastically talented players.
For me a club 'legend' is more like a long standing clubman who gave their all and perhaps never quite got all the accolades they might have deserved, or someone we saw developing into a great, or someone talented who stayed here despite temptation to go elsewhere.
Of course this is just my personal thoughts, and it'll differ for each of us.
