The RFL know that if they drive Koukash out of the sport the chances of getting another rich buisness man with that kind off money would be slim.

It's a bit like tax evasion and avoidance. You create something like a salary cap and brighter, more highly paid lawyers will always find ways around. Close a loophole and they will just find another. Most clubs will have been exploiting loopholes for years and that will never change.

Well ,the good doctor has stated on sportinglife that he is going to approach the RL about allowing Salford to breach the cap so he can bring in a special player to complete his squad.
I wouldn't be surprised if he has designs on gazumping Baarrth to Sam Burgess's signature who obviously is looking over the sea to Blighty if the money is right.

The RFL needs to stand firm on the cap for this season. I would not be against an increase ( or a change in the rules ) but you can't do it after 13/14 clubs have finished recruitment. If the good Doctor has a 'star' lined up, contract for him for [inext [/iseason and plan to adjust the wage bill to accommodate him in twelve months time. Warrington have done that before ( Louis Anderson, for example ).

Whereas Koukash has spouted off to anyone who would listen about Westwood throwing bottles at the crowd and Warrington cheating the salary cap. Neither happened.

And don't compare Koukash to Smith, Smith has forgotten more about rugby league than Koukash will ever know.

The difference is that the 14th man against Cas happened and Tony Smith was asked about it. The alleged incident involving Ben Westwood didn't happen, but Koukash was shouting his mouth off straightaway without even knowing the facts.
