Just had a look and the only train I could get would be at 21:39 with a change at Wolverhampton. Any later and I'd have to stay over and miss work on Friday. Also it would cost about £140...

Managed to watch yesterday's game in a pub in Carnarvon (sp) found a few Wires in there Happy Days

Same here golfing the weekend in Abersoch, did the same last year and it was some drive to get to Saints in time, but worth it.

Out of interest which one? My missus is from Caernarfon so I'm often there when a match is on. I had a surreal experience before the 2012 CC Final when I was in the castle museum and a bloke in a Wire shirt walked round the corner with his little lad. We ended up having a chat about our chances while the Welsh looked on in confusion.

I've just had my half day holiday switched from the Friday to the Thursday so I'm happy enough now. I'll give a bit of credit to the club for keeping kids tickets at £5 for this game too because I thought they might put them up to normal price with it being the biggest home game of the season by a long long way. Decent result all round from my point of view really.

It was a Marston's Pub right next to the Castle called the Palace Vaults 3 TV screens with the match on and every time we scored I heard a cheer so explored the pub to chat to a couple of Season Ticket holders from just off Orford Lane and an older guy from Warrington who was espousing the virtues of the pies from Tomlins on Synge Street

The locals didn't mind at all that we were cheering the boys on.

As Wire-in-the-Blood says it's both price ( no off-peak fares on a Thursday to get there in time for the match ) and the fact that there are no late trains to get back on. Even worse for me as nearest station is Milton Keynes and not all London trains stop there. Last time I looked I could get a train at around midnight via Birmingham which gets into MK at 8.15 am next morning!
