I am self confessed glory hunter - started watching the Wire properly in the 72/73 season.
Bought a season ticket for 73/74 (cup kings that season) and have had one ever since.

I'm really looking forward to tonight's game hopeful of a win taking nothing for granted.

October is the time you want to be celebrating.

That's one of the downfalls to the Grand Final, it takes the limelight away from the league. The team that comes first through playing 27 games can be outshone by the team in 8th place if they manage to get to the grand final and win. Seems bizarre, but I suppose it's good for the sport as sky love it

Ask most of the pros and they'll tell you that the shield is the hardest thing to win, for obvious reasons. Your boy Wilkin said as much recently on GMR, that's the one that's the test of character. Talking of the fella, how are his Celebration Year plans coming along?

Remember your wife when she was your girlfriend, how it was exciting, that first time you got her in to bed, you wasn't a virgin, you knew what sex was like but you were still super excited so much so you probably lasted 3 minutes and told her you're not usually that bad, that is winning the LLS.

Eventually though she becomes your wife and you're winning the LLS a few times but it's not the same, then one day you take her up the back shute and it's really exciting, that is winning the GF.

Right now all the Wire fans are preparing to have sex with your girl for the first time, hopefully we'll take her up the wrong un before even marrying her so that we can cheat on her with a stunning Aussie bird.

Like Wigan with the Challenge Cup last year, like our good selves with the LLS last year. It means nothing when you aint in the running. As for the time for celebrating.....we celebrated when we beat Saints for the first time, we celebrated going back to the DW and winning, we celebrated sticking over 100 on the scoreboard, we celebrated doing the double over Saints, we celebrated making Leeds look ordinary, we celebared last Sunday when we made Wigan look average at the HJ................. Celebratings what we do!!!!

I hope you're doing it at the Grand Final as well. No one remembers the hub cap winners the following season. It's not a big thing any more and there really shouldn't even be a trophy for it.

The play-offs are no more than the old post-season premiership competition, just with a bit of extra glitz.........(well, they are until we get to OT...hehehe).

Correct, I posted something similar when we did it in 2010, we hadn't had much success since 1998 apart from the CC in 2002 and you never know when the next trophy will come along, most clubs have massive dips then a long run of success these days i.e Leeds/Saints as of late, remember fans of the likes of Salford, Wakefield, Quins, Hull KR would chop there arm off to finish top and lift the shield.

Well if we win it we'll certainly remember and I would say that most people remember that Wigan won it last season!

I also remember that Wigan won the Grand Final. Its the losers of that one that no one usually remebers. However when its the same team that loses in it year after year it seems to stick in your mind!

Dont mention losing finals to Saints fans.....they wrote the book on it.
