Funnily enough I was stood with one of the Wigan scouts over the weekend watching a couple of junior games. I commented on how well one of the hookers was playing. He looked at me quizzically and said "But he can't pass the ball"

And the more I watched, the more I had to agree.

It appears that it's a lost art, passing straight from the floor. All the hookers appear to have to pick the ball up and take a stride before they pass.

Leuluai is a 7 in that squad. The question you should be asking is how on earth Buderus is Captain when Monaghan is miles better.

You've got a hooker in McIlorum who has this as a very good attribute, actually it's his only attribute.

He had a poor game on Monday. But he had a series of great games during April, including the Good Friday game, which you might have watched as well.

He isn't a centre anymore. He hasn't played centre for four years. He prefers the second row and that is where he plays from. And he has been doing a great job for us this season from the second row.

Rubbish. Saints signed him as a centre, to replace Talau. It didn't work and they are now trying to accomadate him in the backrow.

You see more of him than me, for me, he never looks anything more than ordinary in the backrow, as you say on Monday he was poor.

I agree with you. I feel the same about Brett Delaney at Leeds, I think he's a poor player too.

Soliola was hyped up to be the best thing since sliced bread when it was announced he was signing for Saints by a few Saints fans too. He's failed to impress me, as of yet, as has Delaney.

Delaney makes Soliola looks like Tallis.

Potter hyped Soliola too, I remember him being really pleased to get him and about what he'd add to the backline. In fairness, he got a bad injury but he's just not a centre, but I guess it's a case now of Saints trying to find a job that he can do now.

Maybe the best is yet to come.

Shaping up to be a good game, lets just hope for no injuries.
