Let's hope it's not one year too many for Hicks at Warrington. He is a very good athlete so I see no reason why his final season won't be as good as his previous. But it is hard to look past the age factor.

ive been thinking about this recently and i have come to the conclusion that it is a good thing.
we can see from the under 20's that we have a fair amount of decent young players coming through... this way every one of them has a quality pro to learn their trade off.... these young players aren't having to be rushed into the team when they are not ready... they will come in chomping at the bit and playing the kind of rugby that smith is installing throughout the club.
It is well known that Hodgson is a very good coach of young players as well... which probably played a major role in smith brining him in.. fullback is the only position where we don't have a quality pro for the young candidates to fullback to learn from.
I have no fear for the future of this team in the years to come. |

Odd thing on that storey from the wire website at the end it says(The Club fully operates to the RFL quota for overseas players. The RFL have specific regulations regarding the overseas quota and long-serving players in this country sit outside of the overseas quota.)

| The only concern I have about the whole age thing is that in the next 1-3 years there is going to be a huge exodus of some very good players.
I just hope our youth system is upto coping with this, along with Mr Moran's famous chequebook...  |
