Quote: rawzy! "Lets face it most people on here dont speak for the majority they are one extreme end of the scale who would rather sit and watch a game in silence, knowone under 18 be aloud, and have the etiquette of a library, most fans want a half decent match day experience with a good atmosphere that can be enjoyed by people who also dont like a drum down there ear hole, surely they can be some sort of middle ground that would benefit everyone who bearing in mind follow the same team.'"

I am 21 years young, I am all for making noise, and having a good atmosphere, but I'm not daft enough to think that is achieved through the monotonous banging of a drum! I don't think anyone has said that they want the stadium to be like a library.

The best RL atmosphere for me was at Widnes in 09 when we beat Wigan in the CC Semi Final. The noise under he stand at half time was unbelievable. For me it was better than Wembley.

Agreed (in 40 years watching the wire)

That Wigan semi is probably my favourite wire memory, Saints away in the playoffs last year is a new contender though.

I think if some games were heavily promoted like the Wigan quarter final was in 2011 then that might help a bit. Get people proper excited for it weeks in advance. Posters, billboards, radio. Get everyone talking about it. A bit of propaganda, that's what we need. That and colour. Coat the town in P&B. Everyone will be that hyped up the atmosphere would be through the roof. If they did that and stopped the stupid tannoy music before KO and after a try then we'd be laughing. And pound to a penny that if the drums were there in an atmosphere like that then no one would care. That's why people hate them. Because no one goes to a home game mega excited anymore. Maybe a few but I'm talking the town as a whole being excited.

Are the meaningless rounds to blame for this? Maybe so. I certainly think it plays a big part. Maybe our recent success has done it.
Are people too scared to start their own songs?
Or are they to lazy and think 'oh just leave it to someone else'?
Is it the new breed of glory fan to blame?
Are the stupidly strict HJ rules to blame?
The price of a game day coupled with the recent resection at fault?
The lack of traveling fans perhaps?
The fact the pubs are empty before kick off?

These are all factors that I believe have systematicly ruined our home atmosphere and it needs to be looked at. The point is I don't see anybody else trying to do something about it. So if 20 odd people want to stand in the corner, bang a drum and sing their hearts out in hope that they just might inspire and get something going at the ground then I say good on them. The only ones who actually try and they're getting ripped for it.

Stood amongst banter and a sing song. Or stood next to a loud bloke screaming his opinion on what he thinks TS should be doing... I know where I'd rather stand.

What are these strict rules you are on about? Only conversation I have ever had with a steward is one told me to finish off my burger before I went in once. At the end of the day they are there to do a job, not to assist in sing songs and the club has to stictly adhere to a number of legal requirements, for obvious reasons. Fail to do that people lose their jobs, the club finds itself involved in costly litigation and should the unthinkable happen safety licenses would be reviewed.

Not quite sure what your other points are really. Pubs near the ground are probably quieter than they used to be because people like myself go to Wetherspoons, which has only been open since 2010. I don't really see why it matters though?

Indulge me, expand on the rules and which ones are stupidly strict please.

I mean i know i'm supposed to have my meth lab in there, but i moved that following the start of the new extension back in '11.

Please, the floor is yours.

In terms of rules I mean the constant updates about bad language. The woman who looks over the south stand like big brother. The fact we can't get a big crowd flag out any more. The stewards at the top who go mad if your foot even touches the yellow line. It may seem childish and petty but talking to other people who feel the same sometimes you feel like you're on egg shells in there. I'm not saying that's all the time and I don't expect you all to agree. That's just my opinion. We're all entitled to one.

Bad language- that message only seems to go out for televised games- BBC/SKY don't want foul language being picked up on their microphones before the watershed which you can't really argue with.
Looking at stand- where else are they meant to look? Not going to see much watching the game.
Big flag- didn't the lady who owns that stop bringing it due to the cost of getting it cleaned etc?
Yellow lines- it is their job, need to keep the walkways clear for access and as part of the stadium safety criteria.

How does any of the above affect atmosphere or your enjoyment of the game?

[b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag. [b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg

16 pages this thread has been going and no-one has put a picture of Russ Abbott up yet. Disgrace. THAT'S why this club is going to hell in a handcart.
