Elephant in the room.
George Williams.
Arrogant, deluded and under performing much like the bloke that keeps picking him.
Go now if you can find an NRL club that will pay you a fortune to disappear when the big games come round.

I've not heard him say anything to make me think he's arrogant or deluded. He's under performing but so are the whole team and I'd say he's one of our better players before his injury. He clearly wasn't fit for the final and probably isn't 100% still. Similar to Toby King. I can't think of any other reason for him to be on the wing other than him not being fully fit and the club trying to shield him a little. I think it's the wrong tactic to play a not fully recovered/fit player, but that's Sam's mistake, not the players. So why hold it against the players? They're just doing as the coach tells them. I think we've played players unfit for a while. We've rushed back players after serious injuries and not rested players who obviously not right. Dufty might be back this week & he has had a serious knock similar to Lindop & Sneyd. I can understand why we are doing it (wanting the 2 points so badly) but it is not a good situation. Which players have we not rested? William's himself wanted to play at Wembley and made a big fuss about being fit for it and has played a total of 9 games this season, Fitzgibbon has the 2nd half off each game anyway and has started 11, King has only played 10 games and Sneyd 9. Tai couldn't get in the side earlier in the season and has played 11. If anything Ben Currie and Paul Vaughan are probably due a game off but it's not like we are flogging the entire team. * https://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/seasons/super-league-2025/warrington/summary.html
Nailed it Wires71. And some people don't need to open their mouths to display arrogance. Williams has played (after a fashion) like a man who knows he is guaranteed to start no matter what for virtually all his Wire career. Like a lot at Wires, he aint as good as he thinks. Players, coaches, directors. Arrogant. Arrogant. Arrogant. I could name you a dozen better stand offs in my time watching Wires and at least 3 in better form in SL today.

The excuses just keep coming ... “I almost feel we haven’t hit our straps yet as a group,” said Burgess, who welcomed Williams’ return from a seven-week absence in his Challenge Cup Final side - the same day he then lost the services of Dufty for two weeks.“We’ve missed Duffs since George’s return. It’s not been George, Duffs, Sneydy and Danny – I think we’ve had it once this year, maybe twice.“In terms of them getting consistency, it’s been tough.“Let’s hope we can get a little bit of consistency in that spine rotation and I think we’ll see a bit more consistency out of the guys as well.”Corrections: 1. We definitely haven't hit our straps. 2. We had George, Duffs, Sneydy and Danny for 4 games this season, the last being Hull FC home game which we also lost 28-16. I know that and it's not my job to know. https://www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/sport/wolves/wolvesnews/25269458.matty-dufty-set-warrington-wolves-return-hull-fc/

Completely agree, he's not arrogant in the slightest or deluded, why because he's leaving. Leave it out, he gives more effort week in week out than most.

| To be fair, all he has said is he is not extending his contract (assuming we were going to offer an extension anyway) He's given us 18 months notice.

I'm afraid MorriseyisnotaWire has got a bit excited recently. If we win we tend not to see him on here but he's having so much fun at the moment. It's a Forum. Bit sad really doesn't seem to like rugby players.

If insulting forum members is fair game now what is to stop someone calling you a "sad delusionary fool who cannot accept an ounce of contrary view" ?

The forum is really in danger of becoming totally visited by those who like throwing crap at Wire. I know we are struggling & you know it too. But why oh why do you want to throw crap at them constantly? Could you answer that one.

| It's hardly throwing crap. We honestly look like we're playing like we couldn't give one if we lose. We spend 65 minutes of every single game kicking rocks until the game is gone and then its like they remember they're meant to win and have to go face the crowd soon so then they start being rugby players and try to drag back some dignity. It happens every week virtually. They deserve criticism. They do not deserve blind or feigned support right now. Start showing some heart and they'll recieve some empathy.

[ i expect him to learn from the right people. Is he signing for somebody else then? Vaughn, Harrison, Curie, Ashton to name just a few. Good solid professionals put the effort in week in week out (iv got a feeling Rubber Duck is going to come after me after putting Vaughn's name in that) but for me, if i was a young prospect they are the regular first teamers i would be looking at and trying to learn from.

| Ok, I'll give some balance to my position with some positvity
We have the best crop of youngsters coming through in all my time watching Wire (40 odd yrs since you as ask)
Despite our standing, our profile is high in Australia and NZ
We have a smattering of genuine talent to compliment the kids (Walker, Currie, Ashton, Harrison, Vaughan, Sneyd, Fitzgibbon)
All of which makes it a crying shame that the people at the top of the food chain seem unable or unwilling to grasp the nettle.
Believe me, it isn't that I'm negative. I lived through the Anderson and Bowden era with my loyalty intact. It's because I care. If the management team, coaches and players cated as much we'd have our own parking space at Old Trafford.
