Quote Winslade's Offload="Winslade's Offload"Asotasi seems to me to be protecting his body from any further injury and collecting the last few coins for his retirement pension. I have never seen him talk with any passion about the club, he is virtually invisible compared to Simms, and a management accountant would have a severe bout of apoplexy if he were to calculate the cost per minutes played. I can not imagine how some of the other players in the changing room feel about him - Hilly in particular, probably Benny as well. And the kids like Currie and Philbin must be completely perplexed. There have been a fair few errors made over the past couple of seasons with regards to player recruitment and (possibly retention), and Asotasi is certainly one of the symptoms.'"
succinctly put. i know what the stats said last week about roy, i know the perception of the quick play the ball, but i think with him it comes down to the intangibles.
You dont ever get the impression he's broke a sweat, never mind coming off the field gasping for breath after a heavy stint.
you never get the impression that he's trying to dominate or intimidate the opposition forwards or half backs, in order to change their game.
He hardly ever puts his hand up to do a line clearing charge leading drive(which then leads to that quick ptb)
you dont see him being supportive to the young forwards after a mistake,
And as mentioned recently, if any biff takes place when he's on the field he's never anywhere near it, that issue with saints at the magic weekend last year, i was at the game and got a phone call off my old man, who swore for three minutes straight over his reluctance to get involved of that, when i started watching Warrington, i was told the mantra was one in, all in, they can't send everyone off.
you look at that, and the other bits, he seems to be failing in his remit of being a prop forward.
