I've only just recovered, i'm staying out of this one but tbf most of my drinking was after the game, had 4 pints before it and 2 during (1 for each half), still remember the game quite well.

Had 2 steaming Wire fans get in my face and scream "Your crap" - (was wearing mi Cas shirt). Whilst that statement was true, felt a bit offended considering I wanted Wire to win. But let's look at the bigger picture, there was what (35,000ish is that a fair estimate) Warrington fans there. Fantastic turnout, most generally in the right spirits. (there's a thread on the Leeds board which points that a few of their fans had issues with the ale, it happens), with near enough 80,000 people there, I think the day went pretty damn well.

Only morons I encountered was some beered up Hull KR fans on the Friday who just wanted to spout racist/sexist comments and verbally abuse the barmaid in the pub we were in.

In a crowd of 80,000 you're going to get some idiots - like that joker with the flag who kept invading the pitch every 15 minutes to speak to Silverwood.

Some Leeds tool, yes i'll use the word tool (just the one though, the rest brilliant) when i was drawing money out of the hole in the wall held an air horn to my ear without me knowing then sounded it off, it was very painful and he walks off laughing with his mate saying "see him s--t himself, i've got it on my phone".

So when i pop up on youtube i can find out who the tool is.

Really appreciate the OP. Not just because it compliments a set of fans that I am a part of, but because it's not often you get something like that said.

The only problem I encountered was in the car driving past all the packed out pubs on the way in. Some tanked up Leeds fans apparently thought it was hilarious that our car had Wire paint in the windows and flags on and thought it their duty to point and make us well aware of this. One even decided that it was appropriate to come up to our car, open the front passenger door and slur in "that's the wrong team..." a number of times before we made him leave. He did attempt to open the door again about 30 seconds later to tell us that our team was the wrong one again but the doors had been locked. Gutted... All pretty harmless, really; more funny than anything.

Our group had brief banter-y exchanges with Wire, Leeds, Hull FC, Wigan and Cas fans (probably more, I just don't remember), and all was grand. I really enjoy talking to opposition fans. I could only get an away stand ticket at our home fixture for Saints this year but got on swimmingly with the Saints fans next to us and had a good laugh.

Just don't use RL as a vehicle for your aggressive/violent tendencies or for your drinking problem
