| Quote Wire_85="Wire_85"That was his first game in weeks.
Thought Hodgson was unreal at times shame Joel or Atkins couldn't finish off his break in the first half.
Blythe went okay his pass to Joel was class.'"
Brett was class. Joel should have had a hat-trick. I think Ryan was bit angy at himself to be honest. Made few dumb decisions. Richard was class in the first half, a bit quite in the second. Michael was putting some bit shots and dislodged quite a few balls. Jon was his usual steady self when he came on.

| A few key things I thought from the game;
Huddersfield never got on the attack outside of their half. (dwarfed by WArrington)
They scored of several WArrington mistakes. That 80 metre penalty from the kick off was a killer and they were bound to score in that weather.
However, the key reason Hudds got back in was because, as some have said, we were men short for lots of the game. Luckily it wasn't as bad as MM against them but it was bad. The forwards we were missing in weather that dictates a forward battle really testifies to the Wire attitude.
Secondly, it was poor decision making when the chance of the try line beckoned. Their was Brett's knock on from a clean try scoring break, numerous fluffed chances on their line and at times just giving them the ball in when about to score.
However, overall i feel defend like that all year and it'll be hard work for teams to score points. The defense at times was punishing; almost torture. Hudds were just not given time to breath for most of the match.
Attacking needs some work. However, I can't moan at a 12 point win.

| I know TS doesn't like kicking 2 point pens but last night was a perfect example when we should have taken the two in the second half...especially considering the situation with the missing players. (Coops and Harrison)

| The finish from Joel was one the best you'll see. I thought of an original song for the Monaghans last night. Awful but fit's.
Tune of Music Man by Black Lace
Joel Monaghan.
He comes from Canberra way
and can he play
Oh yes he plays
he plays Winger
(can bounce to this bit)
Mona, Mona, Monaghan, Monaghan, Monaghan
Mona, Mona, Monaghan, Joel Monaghan
Michael Monaghan
He comes from Canberra way
and can he play
Oh yes he plays
he plays Hooker
Mona, Mona, Monaghan, Monaghan, Monaghan
Mona, Mona, Monaghan, Joel Monaghan
We've got the Monaghans
They come from Canberra way
and can they play
Where do they play
They play for Wire.
Then end with..
Oh Warry, Warry, Warry, Warry, Warry, Warry Warrington.

Jon Wilkin called Brian Noble insane on Twitter last night for suggesting that Monaghan should be given the try "for the effort".
He obviously needs a humour bypass, especially as I stated to him that if he had tried what Joel did, he probably would have injured himself.
It was a tremendous effort, reminded me of Stuart Donlans for Halifax a fair few yars ago.

| Generally agree with most of what's been said and what TS said.
The first 25 mins was great then we lost composure in the first half and bombed 3 good chances - trying to score when taking the tackle would have still allowed us to do so.
2nd half we let Hudds back in - ossibly understandably becasue of the Cooper/Harrison situation - but seemed to panic a lot and not set up pressure.
We deserved the win but overall I think there will be real disappointment with how we played.
Carvell was truely outstanding last night and my mom by a mile.
Conversely Atkins had a very poor game in my view and made many real dumb decisions / lost the ball. I was not impressed with his performance at all and think he'll have to step up if he's to keep his place.

Couldn't agree more. The game needed calming down & by taking the 2 it would have taken the heat out of the game

| A good result for Wire - first half we were brilliant, but second we were forcing too many risky plays when they didn't need to.
Two stand out players for me last night - Grix and Carvell. Grix seemed to be in almost everything Wire were doing well on the attack and Carvell made so many vital meters for us.
I was starting to panic slightly at the end, once it went to 22-10. Huddersfield had all the momentum and when they do, they usually make the most of it.
Towards the end, all Wire needed to do was complete sets and not commit penalties. They were doing the complete opposite and that's what gave Huddersfield the sniff of victory to me.
Although, it was never really going to be a Huddersfiled victory it was very nervy at the end.
