| Good to see a bit of realism!!!
Simms runs hard n tries but doesn't make the yards He has 3pp in to tackle him which slows play down same with hill they rarely get a play the ball before markers are set. More of the same will leave us in no better a position
We will not see a pack.like we had few seasons ago anytime soon we underachieved then.which was masked over by few cc wins
If we can get better than we already have for sure let him go to free up space on the Cap if not I feel were better keeping hold he is still better option than phobia n England

| Quote: Winslade's Offload "Asotasi seems to me to be protecting his body from any further injury and collecting the last few coins for his retirement pension. I have never seen him talk with any passion about the club, he is virtually invisible compared to Simms, and a management accountant would have a severe bout of apoplexy if he were to calculate the cost per minutes played. I can not imagine how some of the other players in the changing room feel about him - Hilly in particular, probably Benny as well. And the kids like Currie and Philbin must be completely perplexed. There have been a fair few errors made over the past couple of seasons with regards to player recruitment and (possibly retention), and Asotasi is certainly one of the symptoms.'"
succinctly put. i know what the stats said last week about roy, i know the perception of the quick play the ball, but i think with him it comes down to the intangibles.
You dont ever get the impression he's broke a sweat, never mind coming off the field gasping for breath after a heavy stint.
you never get the impression that he's trying to dominate or intimidate the opposition forwards or half backs, in order to change their game.
He hardly ever puts his hand up to do a line clearing charge leading drive(which then leads to that quick ptb)
you dont see him being supportive to the young forwards after a mistake,
And as mentioned recently, if any biff takes place when he's on the field he's never anywhere near it, that issue with saints at the magic weekend last year, i was at the game and got a phone call off my old man, who swore for three minutes straight over his reluctance to get involved of that, when i started watching Warrington, i was told the mantra was one in, all in, they can't send everyone off.
you look at that, and the other bits, he seems to be failing in his remit of being a prop forward.

| When the best thing you can say about a forward after two seasons is that he can play the ball quickly it says it all, particularly when taken into account he's fresh on the field and on the ground before being touched. If hes re-signed then....dear god!

Yes I'm bored...but Roy has surely got to be on his bike rather than on our bike?

| you know, i wouldn't mind most of the negative points i've listed above, if he was just likely to hit someone, every now and then?
Dunno how many people remember Superleague III, Danny whittle was a lower league clogger we picked up, DV2 didn't play him until he absolutely had to, but he was a bloody liability, couldn't tackle below the nose. We were losing but at least had a bit of biff to look forward to, same with Tuuta.

I remember Superleague 7 - Wolves the new Breed..
When we brought in Dale "the Wild thing" Laughton.
Glass back - Hardly played . Id have him back instead of Re-signing Roy.

| Roy's main shortcoming is the amount of minutes he is sat in the stand which is obvious to everyone , but there have been one or two points brought up that don't really single him out to be such a disaster.
1. Handling errors.....we have a team full of players that make just as many ,if not more errors than Roy.
2. Roy & the Biff....most modern day imported players avoid getting caught up in fighting on the pitch because, like most of our own players, they have more sense & know the penalties for retaliation can be draconian.
3. Far from being a bulldozing type player he seems more content to let the ball do the work by making effective passes.
One of the problems we have at the minute is that we are making too many forward drives & not spreading the ball enough ,sometimes as late as the last tackle.

Not sure of the £160,000 a year. But are all the 5 beds in the same room.
