I agree with the above, we have an opportunity that shouldn't be missed. The right replica shirt can put thousands on the bottom line. Keeping white, Primrose and blue as the colour scheme in any order for me is a way of stamping our colours on the game.

Get rid of the yellow flash on the shorts and yellow v on the shirt, Replace the club badge with a Primrose W and that is a great kit. Back to the 70's.

look how clean and professional the shirts looked with Emirates on the front. Now to make up for the loss of them as main sponsor we've had to plaster sponsors all over the shirt like a patchwork quilt. the protect my income one cuts through the only bit of Primrose and the only bit of design and looks pathetic.

Thanks Cat ... I take it all back. The design of the shirt is vital to the success of the club, Super League and life itself. Anyway the squad numbers are out now so there will be something else to get stuck into.

To be fair Smiffy, most people on here haven't liked the shirt, it's a very limited POV, obviously subjective (and it's off season) and yes what does it matter in the grand scheme of things?

However, in all that moaning, wailing and gnashing of teeth, there's a fair chunk of good points being made on branding, heritage and supporter engagement that are important considerations IMO as they are representative of who we are as club and disappointingly it would appear representative of things that are or should be simple to do better.

I suppose without dragging it on for too long.

Not many people will agree, but I get both home and away shirts each year regardless of the design / colors. Like them or hate them I'll have them on each game day because I want to show that i'm part of the team (allbeit a rounded middle aged balding member of the supporting team) and I'll continue to do so until I turn my toes up.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, obviously, but using an example of my amateur days...when i walked out of that dressing room on game day I was focused on playing well and trying to get the right result, not on the colour of the shirt I was wearing.

To me, the shirt (regardless of its design and colours) shows who I follow, who I support and which club I love so its appearance means little. To me, the important bit is the meaning behind the shirt, not the shirt itself.

There have been better shirts released in recent years admittedly, but there have also been a lot worse.

I wouldn't imagine that the plyers bother about the design of the kits or indeed the sponsors on the kit. However, the gist is that a smarter looking kit would surely provide a better income stream for the club, the sponsor logo's are an anomaly as by their nature some look good and some look bad and either way shouldn't affect the purchase of the kit, but the club have a choice as to whether the kit looks good or not. For me this time they failed.

Who actually gets the say on choice and proofing the design?
Is it anyone at our club, or do we just get what we are given?

Why would players be bothered? They aren't the ones that have to pay for anything they wear related to the club, unlike the fans.

Clubs would get a much better reaction by using this as a tool to interact with the fans - allowing them to submit designs, and then offering up two or three selected by the club in a voting process.
