If a Challenge cup final against the current SL Champions isn't the type of game we should be playing our 200k signing in then I've officially seen it all! It is absolutely ridiculous to contemplate leaving Myler out the side.
Burrow and McGuire are of the same mould but you can guarentee they will play, so what exactly is the problem? Although I am aware this is all speculation.
Myler's main attributes are exactly the kind of things we need to beat Leeds tomorrow in my opinion, especially when they're a bit understrength in the forwards.

| Ridiculous decision to leave out Myler IMO
How can you possibly choose Higham over Myler

Some of us might disagree but whatever TS decides is good enough for me. Monas and Clarke are more than capable at half back.

| Means we need Wood and Solomona to come on and be the ones to change the game if needed, I don't have much faith in Higham if the chips are down.

| Seems to a ludicrous decision to me, but then again I haven't seen much of you this season. Tony Smith will no doubt know what he's doing as he's a quality coach, but Higham is just plain crap imo. Myler always looks lively when i've seen him, and moving Monas from 9 doesn't seem to make sense, nor does Clarke to 7 if Monas stays at 9.
Intruiging anyway.

interesting where does Myler go now.....this smacks of Kevin Penny troubles to me.....every man and his dog will be saying Myler Cant defend just like they did with Penny whether its true or not.
I havent Seen anything from Myler to suggest he is suspect in defence, on the contrary Ive been quite impressed with it. its his organisational skills that have been below par for me.
So what does he do now??? he's on a good wedge yet not deemed good enough for our biggest game of the season. Same With Penny not good enough to play and on a good salary. Do we persevere with him when we havent done with Penny.
how much Damage Has been done by Tony smith repeating the claims that Myler is targeted in games ??
or does Myler do what Briers did when he was dropped from Saints final team all those years ago......and get pee'd off and feck off to another club.... Steve Molloy did it too when Johno dropped him for Neil harmon in 1990.
I still havent forgot Watching Monaghan perform like dog pooh when he tried to play scrum half...yet we go into a massive final dropping a scrum half for a hooker.....and in fact going into the game with three hookers...... odd very very odd.

I agree with most of that Bick, why move your most potent threat around the ruck into a position where he doesn't look comfortable. Hooker is so important these days and world class hookers are not easy find as most are under contract, we have one but were shifting him to scrum half which doesn't make sense.
Richie Myler's defence is no worse than a lot of scrum halves in SL, Sean Long never had the best defence in the world but it didn't do saints any harm. In fact ive seen Richie Myler do some great cover tackles this year.
Tony Smith is obviously a big fan of Jon Clarke's, he will have known how devestated he will have been last year so to drop him this year would have been unthinkable, its just i feel a touch of sentiment in his selection as i can't see a valid reason to drop Myler which then meant we would have to move a world class hooker into a position which doesn't look natural to him.

| I think the next 12 months could well be the defining ones in richie mylers career.
Does he spit his dummy out or does he take it on the chin and work harder than he ever has done before?

But this is it though he looked very comfortable in the semi.

Point out the opposition again in that semi final your referring too ? Is it the side thats currently bottom of SL and have looked woeful this year including 2 recent pastings by us and Leeds ?
We could have played Alex Murphy at scrum half and would have still beat them.

| Can't believe that Richie is not playing tomorrow, I really truly can't believe it.
Mr Smith chased Richie and brought him to the club and then not to play him in the biggest game of the season .............
Sorry but for me this is a mistake.
