Hodgson's link up play today was world class. There is no replacement in this country that has the same ability.

and the widge that gave Chris Bridge man of the match must have been out of the hospitality suite every time Hodgson had the ball in his hand...

Quote: mat_wire "Evening all. Just having a think about next season (early days I know) but I'm fairly sure that we all agree that Brett is hanging up his boots at the end of this season. Great player he has been for us too. Who will come in to replace him and take the number 1 jersey for next year though? Do we look to Stef, who I would have thought is Briers long term replacement, or Riley who has played FB often for us in the past. Or do we look to being someone in? As much as I would like to see Billy Whizz is the P&B I can't see it!! Any thoughts?'"

Hodgy stated recently that he has no intention of retiring and is looking for another contract at Warrington.

Then we should bite his hand off and keep him. He is our third pivot after Briers and Monas and would be very difficult to replace.

Unless Hudds had a money issue, they were mad not to give him his two year extension.

I've not heard anything about that, but hope its true. As said the club should be doing everything in their power to keep him, one more year Brett, one more year!!!

He was interviewed on RL Extra when it was announced that he had been appointed as the Exiles captain. Trevor Hunt asked him about his plans beyond this season and he said that he was looking forward to discussing another deal to stay at Warrington but
would be looking elsewhere if this proves to be his last season here.

As much as I really like Brett I am concerned that he does some to be getting injured more and more. It really depends on who else we could get in, or if we reckon Ratch is up to the job.

He was one of the reasons we were thumping teams last season, with his dead eyed goal kicling from just about anywhere on the pitch!!Cool as you like Brett.

Can't help but think Huddersfield must be kicking themselves for not offering him the length of contract he wanted a couple of years back. Although Grix and now Eden seem to do a good job for them.

I thought Hodgson wanted another year and I would support that. He has a brain and is also a superb goal kicker

What we don't want is to let him go and then for him to have another season like last year year and make the team who let him go look stupid for releasing him

I know he sometimes looks like an 80 year old struggling to catch a bus, but if he goes at the end of this season we'll be the much poorer for it. Watch him at the back hen he organises the defence, or how he whispers in young payers ears during pressure pints in he game. He's not the exiles captain for nothing ! Keep it up Brett !

Definately a 'keeper' for another season for me.

As well as still being a top performer, it will give us a better idea whether Ratchford or Hellewell will be Brett's successor as they can be used in rotation, learn off the guy in training and be given a chance to bed in/claim No1 jersey
