I just hope Chris Bridge recovers from his four nations 'trauma' then.

| A couple of key injuries and that squad is totally scuppered. I like Cas a lot and I hope they have a good season, but they look light to me. There's no doubt that their best 17 is capable of turning any team over on any given day.

wouldn't have classed him as anonymous, as a 3/4 you're only as good as the service you get from your halves and not much ball went out that way, similar to how GB and england have played for years which is why gleeson always got stick for not doing nowt, can't do anything if you ain't got the ball.
Defensively, he was top notch though.

| Quote: Live Wired "In Shenton, Westerman, Chase and Sherwin, they have players as good as, if not better than any other team in superleague in those positions. Admittedly, they could do with another forward, but I expect them to finish above Warrington in about 5th position.
As for the poster asking if they over-achieved last season, then no is the answer. If anything, they under-achieved. If their home form matched their away form last season, they would have finished 2nd.
Alongside Hull KR, Castleford are the only team to threaten Leeds next season.
Do not under-estimate them.'"
Westerman is amongst the worst LF's in SL. Jah knows what everybody see's in him. Next Andy Farrell/Paul Sculthorpe my arris.

| i've always liked cas from the "classy cas" days of the eighties and think their fans are a decent bunch,i think they'll make the play-offs,good halfbacks,a decent 13 and some strike players in the backs, injuries could be a problem to their strength in depth but their first 17 is pretty solid,i'd say 7th.

| Struggling to think of eight teams I'd expect to be better than them off the top off my head. I reckon they should be looking for a good cup run, too.

Probably a bit better then KR this year and maybe Wigan, that depends on how the team take to the new coaching methods.

| Sometimes a settled squad can help a side but I just can't see Cas improving on last years finish. If they get a few injuries they look a little short unless they can bring in the couple of players they're meant to be looking for.
They have some top players like Chase, Shenton and Sargent but also some very very average ones.
I'd put them around 9th or 10th.

| I like Matterson, I think he's done well there.
I also like that they try to play rugby, give it some air and all that. If they're on the box on a Friday night, i'm happy as they over the last couple of years have featured in games I've enjoyed.
Like folk have said, I'll put them in that 6th - 9th bracket. Hopefully more towards 6th.
