| Surprised that Jason Ryles is not on that list. He is at the point where the next step would be head coach of a super league club before getting a head coaches job in the NRL.
Pretty sure he is back at the storm as assistant to Bellamy.

No he is at the Roosters now, he's agreed a deal for 2024 to return to Storm as assistant so he's a no go.

| Just stuck £10 on Monaghan, not because I want him just that I like the 25/1 odds and a fair few on here would be happy for him to take the role.

| Anderson was our Academy head coach.
Maybe he doesn't want a head coaching role and prefers the development side. But given there are some coaches who bounce around from head coach job to head coach job and never seem to do very well I thought it was odd that Anderson just had one shot when he had been doing well.
Reminds me of John Pendlebury - remember he had Halifax 3rd in the league and a year later he was done never to be seen again as a head coach.

| If we can't get Holbrook now, then let Chambers have a run until the end of the year and take our time.
Holbrook turned Saints around in a few months and were a whisker off (drop goal extra time) the GF in 2017 beaten by LLS winners Castleford coached by Powell. :-S

| I agree that the last thing we should do is just take the "lucky dip" approach and grab whoever is available.
One thing that the last few years has taught us is the idea [ijust get rid, it can't get any worse[/i is false. It can get worse and it has.
In 2017 we were saying it can't get any worse than it is under Tony Smith. Within about 18 months under Price things were worse. Then we thought the dire rugby we were seeing under Price when every year we went out in the first round of the playoffs was as bad as it could get. But from here, the idea of being a playoff team with guys like Hill, Cooper and Charnley sounds like the good times...
I would rather we had some serious behind the scene conversations with real top coaches. If one isn't available for now but might be available at the start of 2025 then go with a temporary coach until then.
If we need to take time to rework the structure of the club, bring in a top Director of Rugby who really knows what to do in terms of recruitment and development, and then let them identify their choice of head coach, lets go for that.
If we just keep taking lucky dip on new coaches then we'll keep getting frustrated until one time we strike lucky, have a couple of years of success and then lose that coach to the NRL. Then if our underlying club structure isn't right, it's back to the randomness of lucky dip because the only reason we were good was because of that coach.

| I can't remember who said it on here (cue lots of "I'm Spartacus" moments) but it was the most resonant thibg I've heard for a while.
The gist was that with the money we've thrown around we could have established an elite academy tasked with signing the best youngsters in the NW, Britain and Europe and bringing them through.
I was reminded of it in the Saints Leeds game where it was mentioned that young Walters was originally from Widnes.
Replacement of Powell needs to be the catalyst for bigger changes within the club, management structure and approach ...... and we all know how we kickstart that.

| If you want an disciolinarian, whose won it all and is a legend of the game, then Ellery Hanley would fit that bill.

Consensus is ( not Confucius says) that a lot of fans on here saying the same thing it’s more than just the coach.
I have long been an advocate of Fitzpatrick out and still stand by that but there must be others in the background that can be said the same of. A full internal review of the club is needed and that has to be led by Moran and Middleton.
We have had Smith, Price and Powell somebody is responsible for employing them and if same people keep just bringing new coaches in well it’s clearly not worked. So again I say it’s whatever is going on behind the scenes.
Whoever comes in one thing for sure that needs to be 100% stamped out is this so called player power, it’s just not on imo. What’s the point of a coach/manager if the players dictate whether they play or not or as suggested don’t turn up for training etc.

We are crying out for a Director of Rugby who instantly has the respect of all from a rugby perspective, a proven winner. Someone who can take the longer view and review our operations top to bottom. Fix the greenhouse before sowing the seeds. Someone who can re-instate our identity and ensure that everything is as it should be from a sporting perspective. Full board level position. Eject the chancer clown and get a capable, experienced sports administrator who can look after the non sporting operation and ensure things like the debacle of the McGuire incident, GI, Burrell signings etc etc never happen again. If we do this, then we may move slowly away from being a laughing stock rich man's play thing into a sporting organisation to be proud of.

The fact that it is Middleton travelling to Australia rather than Fitzpatrick (Again) is significant to me and signals that changes could be happening.

I'd much rather a GF winning Director of Rugby representing WWRLFC was going but I take your point.
Maybe KF is off to become a big hitting CEO of another elite level high profile UK sporting organisation, or perhaps more likely, a Social Media manager role in one of our board members' companies.

Yes I agree about our need for a Director of Rugby, but we currently don`t have one to send to Australia.
