| Quote: NickyKiss "Sad he's not coming back here tbh. He had some serious issues with the high ball in the first team at Wigan and Hull but he's such a dynamic attacker. He will cause no end of trouble with ball in hand and if he can iron out some defensive frailties will go on to become a top class player IMO.
He's playing for the Scots in the World Cup.'"
Gents. I stand corrected. Three of the decent Wigan fans that come on here still rate him. Personally I think it's great that a bit of talent is coming back from Aus. we can't afford to lose too many.

Your joking right? Atkins signed a contract extension just before the end of season.

He'll probably take over from Ratchford, when he goes back to Salford once his contract is up.

| If next season is to be Briers last then if Ratchford goes to 6 Matty Russell may be will go to full back. Can also play wing.
Excellent pace and elusive runner. At 20 he is young enough to have his frailties sorted out.
Thought he looked good at Wigan and Hull given his age and inexperience.
A good signing for Warrington.

| I thought he was good at Wigan and Hull, was sad when he left us. He'll only improve with coaching and as much as it pains me to say it, will turn out great for you, I'm quite sure.

| I'm not sure on this one. Rubber Duckie never gave us a Ted Rogers 3,2,1 clue regarding this signing? Can't be any good then

| Bit confused as to why you went for him, considering the Jones-Bishop rumours, who I rate higher than Russell. Still, he should have improved his game whilst down under so you could have a very good signing there.

| Type "Matthew Russell Gold Cost titans" into you know where and there's a nine minute vid.
Looks very handy albeit it at reserve grade level.

BJB could just be rumours and this signing could pour water on the flames of speculation.

| On that video he looks really lively, strong in collision too.
Also, on 5:29 in the clip: That is the most forward I've ever seen a pass thrown! Shocker!

He's really strong in the collision as you say and he'll bust tackle after tackle. He's one if those nuggety players that just bounces out of tackles then combines it with a burst of speed and an eye for a gap.
He's a similar to the young lad at Catalans (Escare) in stature and style.

From looking at that video he pops up on the left wing position a lot funnily enough. He looks very strong and quick with great footwork. If he gets in the side the forwards will love the dumy half work he appears to do too. Perhaps this is about generating competition. Riley has had no real competition for the left wing spot and presumably without this signing Ratchford would have no competition for the full back spot. Good signing for me.
