| Dunno if the injury curse struck again! Any thoughts/news on Morley (who apparently would of returned if needed) along with Joel and Brett, who had ice on their legs at the end. Along with possible returns soon for Bridge and Atkins? Thoughts...

| Injuries create opportunites for other players. When everyone is fit (and it never actually happens) Tony will have some interesting but great problems for a coach

| Possibly a very interesting conundrum for Mr Smith for the Wakey game.
I assume that of the players missing the game last night Ryan Atkins is nearest to a return. Should he be able to automatically regain his place or do Blythe / Evans deserve to keep their spots for next week.
Difficult one as I would assume Atkins will be chomping at the bit to turn in a big performance v Wakefield and has the experience but I dont believe that Blythe or Evans deserve dropping after their previous performance(s).
IMO reward the youngsters and let them keep their place. Atkins on the bench and give him a run in the 2nd row during the game

| I agree that neither Matt or Rhys deserve dropping but Rhys is a young lad whose bones and muscles will not have fully developed yet and it wouldn't be good for him to play too many games.
Blythe and Ryan in the centres for me with Rhys making the 19 but given a week off unless needed.

| Or do we rest Morley, bump Ben Harrison up from 13 to the front row, play Blythe in his favoured position, in the back row and play Atkins in position?

| i don;t get this with blythe, he's come in and he's doing a very good job at centre and now people are wanting to move him out to the back row, where he's been average for us previously.
Maybe he's playing well now as its his best position.
if it aint broke dont sniff the glue.

| The young players need a certain amount of protection IMO....its great that they fit straight in when needed and don't let anyone down...quite the opposite in fact....but as someone else has already said, physically and mentally they are still developing and too much first team action at a tender age could have long term negative consequences....we don't want crocked, burnt out 'big heads'.
If first team regulars are fit they should be brought back in. The kids will get their chance again.
I would guess Mr Smith will know whats best eh! Its a very welcome headache for him to have...competition for places in the first team...particularly in the back division is very healthy at the moment. Long may it continue!
Moz should always play if 100% fit. Blythe looks like a to me...reminds me a bit of Joe Ropati.

| I expect Morley to be given the week off to make sure he does not aggravate his injury. Will expect Rhys and Blythe to stay in the Centres if Atkins is not fully ready aswell. Good to have such a strong squad now that means we don't have to risk players.

Blythe has done well in the centre position, but would you seriously pick him there ahead of Atkins??...
Personally, I'd go with the chap who suggests resting Evans, but ultimately, unless Blythe learns very quickly how to perform as a proper centre and not as a very able stop-gap, he should always remain behind Atkins, Bridge and King in the pecking order.

Given what you've seen so far, you'd have to play Evans at centre and shunt Blythe to the wing, It might be a little unfair but he's just looked a strong runner with half a yard of pace, Rhys clearly has more to offer at centre with some footwork.
I expected Hodgson & Morley to miss this week, remember Che has said that we'll have to manage Hodgson this season, he was creaking back end of that Leeds game, it looks a good moment to give him a re-charge. I'm a little surprised by both Monas being out, but hey ho.
If we start winning games comfortably with fringe teams like this, well, I think we've arrived.

| Is it a good sign that nothing has come from the club RE: Injuries?
Could mean none are long term and Mr Smith has the option to either play or rest, without having his hand forced.
Worst thing we can do is under estimate a Super League team. We all know of Wakefields problems, but they still have some good players who will catch you with your pants down if you are not careful. Arrogance has no place in Super League, when it comes to each round, everybody is a threat, that's what makes the competition great!!

I wouldn't panic. With the lack of size in our pack and creativity in the halves we (Wakey) will not get anywhere near you in terms of the score. I like many other Wakey fans will be happy if our young lads continue to develop and put 100% effort in, and although it will be hard to watch us getting beaten easily will no doubt admire some of the Rugby that your team are playing at the mo.

Only problem with that is Blythe has very little experience or positional sense as a winger, unlike young Evans who is an out and out three quarter. Although I would prefer to see Evans at centre then Blythe. At the back end of the Leeds game Smith/Che/Le God moved Evans to the right wing position when Joel went off (see 2nd Hall TRY). Might be worth recalling Rhys Williams from Crusaders to partner Evans on that wing, then move Blythe in to second row. Of course this is all hypothetical, as we are yet to know the 19 man squad.
