| Dudson, Kassiano ,Bullock were all big lads who didn't really do us a lot of good ,although i thought Bullock was improving in his last few outings & Kassiano was a ball player who wasn't used in the right way to create gaps. What we have now ,apart from Vaughan , are lightweights by comparison & it is no good expecting them to barge through defences. Creation needs to come from our engine room to create gaps to use our lightweight forwards as a viable options to the threequarters. Either that or stick our forwards on bulking up in the off season.

| Or thane:
I would still prefer to see Yates at 13, like said above, He's a very good defensive player with a great Engine, but he's not a Prop and doesn't have the size to get the team on the front foot. Satae does fit that bill, but i wonder if Burgess has put all his eggs in one basket to try and get papali'i as we're in for him by all accounts. Although his Wife has just been convicted of Assault and given a good behaviour order, not sure how that affects a visa or work etc over here? But yeah i get the mention of being overloaded with props, but again like said above how effective are they getting the team going forward. Also does anyone know if Vaughan has now actually re-signed with us? If not there is a possibility he won't be here which would leave us a hell of a lot weaker in my oppinion. Also i understand the Crowther re-signing as he's a decent utility player, covers hooker, prop, 13 and Second row. Not a world beater but a consistant steady player. We could also still lose Wrench this season as it's his last year and not had much game time, with Lindop getting injured he may get his chance of more Game time....but he might not.
They are convinced over on Redvee that Papali’i as signed for Saints they have been talking about for some time now, personally I’d rather go for Satae

| Our pack is industrious, but a weapon of the bench would be so effective. If Currie plays 60 minutes, we could have a huge bopper come on for two 10 minute spells of chaos. Philbin is (can be on occasion) our boat destructive ball carrier, and can effect the momentum of a game, but we need someone to scatter the pigeons and tie in some middles. We fell for it at the weekend trying to stop Lisone and they went around the back and Smith went over untouched on our line. It was 30 minutes in, give or take, and it was 0-0. He changed the game, without touching the ball. We don’t have someone that creates space by aura.
Papali’i would be that guy. Big and strong but deceptively good feet, so you’d have to defend him first before sliding. Satae would be ok. Toby Rudolph would be a good pick up too, can’t get back into a stacked Sharks pack and they need cap space for Will Kennedy.

| If we persist with tai and king in the centres then it won't matter if we bring in Payne hass as prop. Our attack will be one dimensional and we'll struggle to score points.

Be nice if there was some accountability from the club though. Who is picking the players, Chambers, Karl, Burgess? When is the next fans forum? It's all well and good hosting fans forums and Q&A's etc at the start of the season or when things are going well. It would be nice to hear from the board on recruitment especially this season given every signing has been a disaster and some accountability would be refreshingly welcomed.

| The fans forums were a total waste of time, we asked questions and standard answer was we will take it on board or we will have a look at it but from my recollection nothing ever asked was acted on. It was just an exercise to say we engage with the fans and look like we listen when in reality they do exactly what they want. I just stopped attending them.

I'm glad the press have picked up on it. We have been saying it for a while. They could have cited many more examples too.

| I got up early to watch Russell play in those PNG tests last year. It did not take long to realise he was nowhere near the level of player we should be entertaining. I wonder how much our board have had to pay out in paying off sub-standard players over the years? Far more than it would cost to get a competent CEO/recruitment specialist.

It's a familiar tale. I watched Luther Burrell's Wire debut away to London, and I could quickly tell that he had no chance of making it in RL. He actually looked like he was anxious about the ball coming to him. Where was the due diligence on that recruitment? Yes, he was a cheap gamble, but throwing him into the team almost as an experiment just made us look unprofessional. I wonder how some of these woeful recruitment decisions are made, and who is responsible for them. As others have said, there are numerous such examples and a lack of accountability.

I was battered on here, by the usual suspects, when I questioned the recruitment process for the Director Of Rugby position (for which recruitment and retention would naturally reside). I outlined the experience skill set and background that I would be looking for inviting serious applicants from the UK and Australia. I wanted someone with a strong character, international reach and profile, who had experienced the game at the highest level, and who held respect in the game and would be able to sell the club and it's ambitions. I was worried we would make a classic "jobs for the boys" appointment taking the simplest path. In the end we recruited a loyal servant who had never been in a pro RL environment other than Warrington. But it's not his fault, I suspect Chambers has very little remit in real life and effectively does as he is told. Remember after Powell, Middleton saying that never again would the board cede so much power again (i.e. it was all Powell's fault *). The recruitment is likely to be collectively agreed by the board - that's why there is no head to roll! I bet recruitment is a mixed bag of Simon Moran's / Stuart Middleton's chance meetings with agents, whims, vanity projects (Johns/Burrell/Inglis/Johnson), Sam's contacts/former team mates (Musgrove), in house research, or implosion of SL clubs leading to exodus of players and inbound calls from agents touting their available player (Sneyd/Stone), and a fair few panic signings. I would love to think that there was a process of defining club playing style/ethos/values first followed by identification and qualification of prospective players to match it. But there isn't based on the evidence we see. Sadly, as well as recruiting sub-standard players, we also manage to recruit a good number of players with questionable character and behaviour to add to the mix. (McGuire / Musgrove etc). However, the club owners can run the club in exactly the way they want. We can only choose whether to pay for season tickets or merchandise which, to be fair, they seem to be quite animated about. * https://www.seriousaboutrl.com/warrington-chairman-didnt-like-how-people-were-treated-under-daryl-powell-79578
