| Maybe we were lucky that the weather turning bad yesterday made it a game of defences because our defence was excellent. What did for us was everybody watching what Lewis was up to in the closing stages. While he was making a nuisance of himself on our right side & drawing our defence across, the ball was quickly shipped across to our left where the ghost that is Tyrone May made the killer blow.

| Obviously gutted by the result, but an outstanding performance. I don’t blame Lindop for the defeat and don’t understand why some people feel the need. We were understandably massive underdogs and gave the lie to that tag. Difficult conditions, difficult circumstances and so so close. This isn’t about being satisfied with mediocrity it is about understanding rugby league and the commitment shown. Anyone who feels differently is entitled to their (misguided) opinion.

| Credit to KR, we were essentially chasing a penalty for 40 minutes, we had tons of the ball but they kept turning up and defending, and defending cleanly.
We desperately lack a bit of deception and trickery at hooker. And before anyone jumps on Crowther, he was the only one to challenge them out of acting half and nearly got over in the first half. So much time on their line and we just needed to manufacture a little 1vs 1 on the line, we always get caught with it when the fullback is in the line and we get isolated (see Wakefield (a)).
Tai would want a few of his first half chances again, there were two that ended up bombed, but also a chance where Dufty skirts across Lewis and Lewis chases hard leaving a huge gap to turn Tai on the inside and we end up running out of room.
Frustrating to be beaten through our defending of kicks though, it’s been a theme in various aspects throughout. The Lindop drop out, Dufty caught one but had his back turned when it was taken, I think they won a contested drop out too, and ultimately the try which we simply must do better on, but all of these are repeats from errors earlier in the season. Frustrating, but you don’t always get what you deserve.
Big week this week, Leeds are no push over. But we need a win, and we need to keep that going into Hudds, Hull FC, Salford, Catalan, Cas… if we can get a bit of momentum going, we could satisfy the table before we get into the tail end really.

Rico I too thought it was a tremendous effort from the Wire, especially when there were players out there who were still in recovery stage from injuries and were definitely not match fit.
We would probably have had wholesale criticism for negative tactics throughout the Rugby League community, but a couple of Sneyd drop goals in the 2nd half would have paid dividends and a 3rd would have sealed the win.
He had the platform to do that and kicks drop goals like shelling peas.
I assume the players were playing to orders, so I assume it was the coaching staff who were dictating the way we played and showed a lack of nous on how to seal a game.
Kept saying to my mate watching it in the pub that I'd have gone for a drop goal to make it 7-2 and at least really pressure any conversion for KR. It was clear on about 60 minutes that at most KR had that one try in them. Get it to 7-2 and if your chance came for more, keep banging them over. Easy to say in hindsight I guess but it was clear that the game was never going to really break open and KR are very good defensively. Given the conditions on Saturday Warrington should have been looking to come away from HKR’s line with points. HKR were done and Wire could have sealed the deal with drop goals.

| With the drop goal ideas it is so easy to look back and say we should have done this or that. It is very very rare for sides to go for a drop goal when they are four points up. It just does not happen. If they'd have missed I can imagine most would say "Why the hell are they going for a drop goal ... what a daft idea".

| Still not watched the game, but with how close it was and how crazily close we were to winning it, gives me hope for the rest of the season. If Williams had been match fit, if we had Walker in the team and Ashton in the squad i think the game was ours. We'll get Walker back this year, Dufty once he's recovered, and William will gain more and more fitness and sharpness. Disappointing to lose like that but from what i've seen the performance from ourselves was brilliant, Time to rest up, recover, roll our sleeves up and make a big play for the final (fingers crossed)

| We could do damage if we get into the play-offs but I think we're really going to struggle to get into the top 6 now. There is some luck sometimes in how fixtures fall - we could've really done with Salford this week but Leeds away is going to be 2 points dropped again - especially with no Dufty or Taylor-Wray to back up. It's going to take some clawing back and we might just have left ourselves too much to do - terrible points difference is not helping.

| Have to
get rid of the onfield call. Referees guessing every week when they haven’t a
clue. How can you send stuff up as a try unless you’re 95% certain given there’s
such a massive threshold needed to be met to overturn the decision? I think
that try gets overruled in the NRL and disallowed. Just bring it back to how it
used to be where the video ref makes the decision and you’re not sending it up
as anything otherwise half the time you don’t need the video ref.

I know there's been this debate about different rules that might apply to the attacker and defender, but I also wondered what would have happened if it was sent up as No Try

| Well if that rule is correct then the Try/No Try would have made no difference and HKR would have got the try.......I'm yet to be convinced that is the rule though.

To be honest if we do scrape into the play offs I can only see one thing another plucky defeat...prefer us to miss out..spend the rest of this season blooding a few more youngsters especially in place of players that won't be here next season...
