The chance to rise to the top is there for the taking but I don't think we are going to do it while Fitzpatrick and co are here. We'll just plod along as nearly men until we have a change. The best we can hope for is a good Cup run and maybe a Cup win every now and then to tide us over.
The one thing we have in our favour is a good structure beneath the first team level, which is bearing fruit. I do wonder if Steve McNamara could do anything with us/ Not so much 'the missing piece of the puzzle', but possibly the best available option with a proven record of finals. BTW, where the hell have you been Sally? You're like that Mothman Prophecy movie, where you only appear when a disaster unfolds... Coincidence?

Bit of a disasterw#nk on here.
But yes I'm sure if we fire Ben Currie, Joe Philbin and Bobby Moore the kitman, we'll be unstoppable.
Rather than critiquing others opinions, do you have anything meaningful to cotribute as to why we perennially under perform in the league? We have failed for 20 years to win a GF yet over that period have had the same financial means as the clubs who have won it multiple times. Do you not think that strange or at least an anomaly? Or is there nothing to see here and it's just bad luck, everything is ticketyboo and people calling it out are simply disaster merchants?

As I recall, we made it to 12 major finals during that time, of which four Grand Finals. So the margin between a rotten club and a champion one seems to be paper thin. In three of those, we were slightly outplayed although I seem to remember that in one Wigan did a good job of injuring half our team and escaping punishment. I'm happy to drop in my thoughts on our general performance, although I find the hand wringing 2-3 times per week a bit much and I haven't really got anything new to say. I find some of the solutions people reach for a bit terrifying - Powell was actually a supercoach and let's bring in Paul Rowley - so hopefully someone has got a cool head in the boardroom.

| Tough time for Wire at the moment after the encouraging signs last year. I'm afraid some of our "fans" enjoy nothing more than twisting the knife. On the forum ... some, almost forgotten, appear from nowhere and our regulars work themselves into a frenzy at the sheer joy of our predicament. In reality we are in a tough situation & it may last some time ... we do have injuries and many players so obviously need a rest.

| Bingo. The "fans" in quotation marks. I knew we would see that sooner or later.

| Real fans get behind the team & show sympathy in the struggle but of course are critical at times. "Fans" ... sense an opportunity to deliver their well worn, sad, messages of doom. "Sack 'em all ... I told you we were crap". Time after time and year after year.

A fair counter outlining your view there is nothing systemically wrong just thin margins, a bit of bad luck and foul play from an opponent. The weakness, if i may, in that argument (that relies on 12 finals of which we won 4) is that 8 of them were the challenge cup finals not the league. It was the failure in the league that I thought we were talking about. There is no doubt that we are "cup kings" since 2009. Uncharitable people could say that is likely because it is much easier to win as you will most likely only have to win 2 or maybe 3 difficult games in a row to win it with nice gaps in between them to relax. Anyway you are right. It is hand wringing bourne of frustration I think and in actual fact doesn't achieve very much.

If you say so.

| The current situations we are faced with (discipline, results, and signings) are the result of the ineptitude of those above Burgess, and that won't change until the owners take a more proactive approach concerning the club.
Sam Burgess was an unbelievable player, but as a coach, he is poor at best. He has one chance to change the narrative. The team is currently off the rails, heaven knows what they will be like if they beat HKR at Wembley.
If as is rumoured that the coach and his backroom are part of the reason the team are ill disciplined then a strong response is required from the club sooner rather than later, otherwise its another year wasted.

Whether you like it or not Powell did an outstanding job at Cas and has had success at every club barring ours. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. Certainly makes you think.
