If Lewis was playing in a team towards the bottom of the table (us lol) he'd be getting the same criticism that Jake Connor does. Absolute whopper. So far I've watched him steal a ball in the tackle, take a kicker out, and push everyones heads down at the PTB. Scrote. Then gets a lucky try after trying to ball hog. If we're losing by a significant margin I'd take Russell caving his head in...
I'd have him here tomorrow it's just what we need...and one reason why hull kr will wallop us at wembley...

| I really don't get last night
I understand the "resting" of individuals. All our eggs are in the Challenge Cup basket. I've more chance of a candlelit, lamb naganzi supper with Susanna Reid, than we have winning SL this year, but that was just 2 points tossed away with disdain. HKR weren't THAT special.
On our opening couple of sets, we showed a little enterprise. After that, just driving through the middle, which was a battle we were never going to win. Bar them taking the ball up, I don't recall our wingers with the ball in their hands, apart from Thewlis' fall over try.
Don't get me started on the two PNGians. What a waste of shirts, especially the "forward".
Our recruitment is lousy.
All's not lost, though. I'm still reasonably confident for the final. Six years ago, we beat a team that was far superior to us, at the time. Let history repeat itself.

| We will be rightful underdogs but we do have a chance at Wembley, but I think we would need Vaughan, Fitz, Williams, Sneyd to all play - and play well.
We desperately need to sort our edge defence though.
Hull KR were not "all that " last night.

| We'll win at Wembley. Nothing last night is much to fear especially once we have the 4 or 5 back we need.
Our wide defense is horrible though, we need to fix that. There were four or five occasions there where it ended up about 3 on 1.

| As the video of Chris Sandow showed ,the highlights were amazing & he had his hands firmly on the Wire tiller in our good performances. I think it's fair to say that HKR have two genies at the minute in Lewis & May. We need to keep both of them quiet at Wembley to have a chance. I thought Wood had a good game last night ,solid as usual, & needs to be made Musgrove's replacement officially.

I like Wood, I think he can switch off a bit defensively, but he's not the only one. This is his chance.

I often wonder why it looks like we are playing with 12 men when the ball is moved quickly to our edges.

| Few takeaways..or BBQ's from Friday night !! Its all well and good saying there's nothing to fear from us, we weren't all that etc etc and whilst it was far from a vintage performance from Hull KR, you've got to remember we are, erm, your opponents at Wembley and despite what players say there's always gonna be one eye on that one. It was job done without seemingly any injuries from our side so can't argue with that. Warrington weren't so bad. Philbin put in a huge stint and Harrison went well as he seemingly usually does. I really do think the Modern game has changed to the point where I'm not sure chucking players in without any game time and half fit you can really get away with it, logic would think and I'm not being arrogant here, you shouldn't in theory be able to go toe to toe and live with us for the full 80..however , it only takes a crazy card and Wire have shown good resilience when the chips are down all year so we shall see.
Is Matt Wire about 9 in the head by the way? Ha

History didn't help us last year when Wigan were far superior to us. If we beat Hull KR at Wembley it will be an upset on the scale of Sheffield Eagles beating Wigan, or Buster Douglas KO'ing Mike Tyson, or the Wimbledon Crazy Gang beating the Anfield Rappers. We could try shouting "YIDAHO" in the tunnel to psyche them out like Vinnie Jones and the boys did.

If we beat Hull KR at Wembley it will be an upset on the scale of Sheffield Eagles beating Wigan, or Buster Douglas KO'ing Mike Tyson, or the Wimbledon Crazy Gang beating the Anfield Rappers. There's a lot of mythologising that goes on with these supposed seismic upsets. In 1998, Sheffield Eagles finished eighth in Super League (above Warrington and Hull, among others). In 1988, Wimbledon finished seventh in the league, having finished sixth the season before. Yes, both Sheffield and Wimbledon were clearly underdogs and surprise winners in those finals, but not quite the no-hopers that history makes them out to have been. So actually, I guess that makes your point valid - Wire winning against Hull KR would be a similar sort of upset to those.
