Would Saints have scored last night without Percival? He was their best player.

Am I right in thinking that after Rod banged Percival he quickly switched sides and went on their right?

Just watched the game back. Wilkin as selected viewing, the Percival no try was correct. If you watch the build up he grabs Ashton?s shirt first and is keeping him from getting close, the grab by Ashton was right at the end of the play when both players were going to ground. If anything there was a shout for penalty to us for preventing Ashton getting to the ball. Walmsley and Welsby both asking for a penalty try lol.

I heard Welsby instructing the ref on a penalty try. What a melt. 


Wilkins bias at the end was rediculous. 

Dear Mr Nigel Wood, would you please be awfully kind enough to rearrange the super league fixture list, for the remainder of the season, so that we can play St Helens every week.

Thanks, I had started to wonder if there was something wrong with my telly when I heard all the moaning about the Ashton/Percival incident, as it seemed very obvious to me that Percival was shirt-tugging too and possibly the instigator. 

Jon Wilkin should be embarrassed by his behaviour over the weekend. I don?t mind passionate support for a team, even by a pundit. I often quite enjoy it (the NRL do it better) when the commentators show a bit of their true colours and get swept away with the emotion. All part of it when it?s positive. But with a dying brand already, the last thing you need is your own media personalities flogging grievances on air. Kevin Brown handled him well I thought and brought balance, as Carney left it almost unchecked. 

Absolutely - embarrassing is the right word. To focus on a couple of marginal refereeing calls rather than what was an heroic effort from Wire under extreme adversity, it just shows that he can't be relied upon for impartial analysis. Carney should have moderated the discussion better, too.

It was pure, self indulgent, petulance. Lack of emotional control. 

I know I should be a better man but I am mildly enjoying the St Helens predicament at the moment. 

Switching him was tactical due to genius Wello's lack of foresight about putting Whitby, Sambou and Bennison all on the same side of defence against King/Ashton and watching you guys unsurprisingly walk through it at will. He did it to put a bit of experience and a good defender over there. It then had the (unintended, I'm sure) side effect of Percival for once in his life actually getting some ball down his side and he showed what he can do with it. Wonder if lessons will be learned there, or will we be back to seeing him playing as though he's an 18st prop on the left again next week?

On another note, fantastic grit and determination from your team. Had no business winning that game with the amount of disruption you had. Fortunately for you, we are truly shambolic at the minute!
