Strange how it's been left this late. Have the club dropped one here? You don't find out a week before travelling that you may not be able to travel because of visa issues unless you've left it late.

I cannot see how it is anything other than oversight / cockup / admin error / blunder. The trip to Vegas was announced on 9th July last year. In those 7 months it was perhaps sufficient time to evaluate the entry requirements and ensure the correct visa was in place.

100%, mate of mine was rejected for an ESTA for a minor offence on his record and had to book an appointment to get a VISA. Even after this appeal in London it took 2 weeks to get his passport back.
I think/hope there is a different process for Athletes and professional people but i wouldn't be holding my breath if i was Mr Burgess.
