Quote: Deus Dat Incrementum "If there is any truth in this it is a sad indictment on the state of the club. It is clear that Powell has come in and tried to instill a level of professionalism that the players may not be used to.
Not many of us know exactly what goes on behind the scenes but there cant be many players that can look in the mirror and say that they did everything possible to make this year a success.
When a fellow professional with more GF rings than the whole of our squad combined says this with no axe to grind then some people need to be taking a long hard look at themselves.
Clearly players with incredible talent have come to this club and been allowed to drop into a comfort zone. It sounds like there has been almost a trade union v management battle within the club this year.
Once the remaining departing players have gone there is 5 months for everybody to get with the programme. It is not like Powell didnt warn them. In his first video he explained that there would be some things that they might not like but asked them to go with it - sounds like some didnt want to go with it.
If anything if these comments from Amor are true I am even more behind Powell. If the tail is wagging the dog then we will never win the big one.'"
Good Post.
Agreed, I think if amor actually did say that maybe everybody at the club should have a look at themselves and take the criticism on board. The culture starts at the very top at the board, then on to the CEO, then the coaching staff and finally on to the players. Everyone has to buy in. The question should be are we serious about winning the grand final? If the answer is yes that what do we need to do to make it happen. An unprofessional outfit quite simply won't win it.
