| Just sat in the traffic on Scotland rd/Winwick St.
We were ropey up front both in defence and going forward, first 20 minutes or so.
Hughes and bullock appeared to be better for the most part, to philbin and mulhern (Robbie improved 2nd half)
Widdop and Williams probing were Miles better than last year. Williams especially.
I'd be interested to know why currie got subbed, thats probably the first time I can recall since his knee injuries in 2018.
Not a bad performance overall, following on from being dog rough on Saturday.
I'll take that.

| I know it’s early days, but I can’t help but think Alex Walmsley in that pack puts us in contention. I still think a full strength Saints and Cats beat us up too much, but I think we will build as the season progresses and score some points - the wire way!

| Bullock was great tonight I think he will prove to be a good signing, I do think we are short a unit but the pack did pretty well in both games so far. They weren't busting holes in either game really but they aren't being broken either. Matt Davis and Jason Clark so far look quite exciting compared to what we have been used to from them. Hughes played well as a prop tonight.
I agree, saints will probably be too strong for us in a few weeks but if we keep building I think we can close the gap. Probably not enough this season.

A quiet match from Ben.
Think he took a knock earlier on.
A big improvement on last week.
Several very good performances - Clark, Walker, Ashton, Charnley, Widdop, Williams and - as usual - Ratch (not to mention Ma'tautia).
But lets not forget we struggled with go forward until the intercept try.
We'll find out how good we really are after the Cats and Saints matches.

| It looked as though Currie was badly winded after a tackle. Maybe his substitution was precautionary.

| Going back to what I said earlier was worried in early phase when Cas were running over us and stopping us going forward. But when Bullock came on it for me turned us he had some strong carries and Mulhern aka Ron Burgandy got stronger when he came back yes we still light but starting to think we can deal with this.

| Quote CW8="CW8"Bullock was great tonight.'"
Thought he adddd quite a lot, but needs to remain in control. Made 2 big erros and was lucky not to be sin bined after 35mins.
But its a step up from what we saw from him last week.
I think he'll do well under DP - confidence thing that he didnt get under Lam I think.

| I did fear the worst when Cooper wasn't named. I do think we lack a lot of 'punch' up front and that will be a problem against the likes of Saints and Cats. BUT, can't fault them tonight. Mulhern and Bullock looked fine. Our discipline was excellent...Castlefords was terrible... which is no surprise given who their coach is now. Charnley was excellent took his tries very well...now joint 3rd top try scorer in the super league era...nuff said. Some very good signs out there tonight...but there is still a question mark for me on the front row.

Another one for the radford thoughts,
I'm sure him signing 3 players that got him sacked at hull, 2 years ago is a great idea.

Can't argue with that, the pack is answering the questions asked so far without being dominant but it's still too early to say they're good enough, or not good enough for that matter. I like all 4 of our props individually just feel we lack overall size.
A massive positive from tonight is that we didn't miss Darryl Clark at all, walker was terrific. I had doubts about him, I was wrong. I wasn't wrong about Steve Price though, I think Jason Clarks performance proves that.
